After closely monitoring the river conditions for the week leading up to the Autumn Head, and listening to the high winds on Saturday night, more than a few people were concerned the race wasn't going to go ahead. Luckily Sunday dawned brighter and calmer than forecast, and despite it taking approximately 2 years to get up to the pipe, the Autumn Head went off as planned, and on time! Today we got to row amongst some world class athletes paving the way and steeling all the pennants I may add. To be the best you must beat the best and what better way to do so than race some of GB’s finest athletes. We were set of as the first women’s crew and start with the Leander A crew right on our stern. It goes on the crew average and you are able to race above you status just not below.

The Long Road to Success. Failure is not an option! Monday, 12 November 2012. On Saturday the 10. November over 500 crews from around the country gathered on the Thames for the annual Fullers Fours Head. The race is held over 4.25 miles from Mortlake to Putney and is the reverse of the Oxford Cambridge boat race course. I raced in the same crew as the Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships with just a small change of the steering foot to bow. Set of crew number 422 we had a long wait for our race to begin.
