Friday, March 6, 2009. Think educators should try to match the technology used by students but at least. Try and understand the technology the students are using. This is so you can relate to them and if the opportunity. Comes up you can use some of it to teach. Online chats are useful in the classroom i think they would be more of a distraction then anything. Students would more and likely use it to talk about something else. Like stimulation of the brain and some educational value can be gained.

Friday, January 30, 2009. Hello, my name is Katie Hettich. I am a sophomore at A&M Commerce majoring in biology. I plan on teaching high school colorguard, winterguard and biology after I graduate. I am very involved in colorguard and winterguard throughout the year. I have tought cologuard at local high schools as well as written high school shows. Students will already be knowledgeable and comfortable with the technology so they will know how to use it, and they might enjoy it more if it something they are familiar with. Personally, I don't really have much of an opinion on del.icio.us. I've never had any real reason to use it, as most of what I use online can be found with a simple Yahoo search. I enjoyed making my teacher brochure and resume and felt it was really beneficial to know how to do. I thought the brochure was really fun to create, and I think it is something I will use when I begin teaching.
