Nurses Reaching Out (NRO) is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was set up in 2009 to improve nursing and health care by empowering and supporting nurses to access appropriate evidenced based health care practices. By doing this we hope to make improvements not only to the care patients receive but also in the patients’ environment. At present NRO works in Northern Uganda.

Action & Support. Maternity and Women's health. 8216;Promoting health, hygiene and dignity’. Pregnant women coming to hospital to give birth are asked to bring soap, 3 pieces of string, a razor and a bowl. Most cannot afford these items so NRO provides packs containing; sanitary towels, string, soap and maternity knickers. By giving new mothers sanitary towels and maternity pants, we are helping to reduce the risks of infection post delivery and are increasing a woman’s comfort. Designed by Greaves Design.
