Luxor and Karnak – Nurul Gets Lost

Let's go adventuring! January 14, 2015. January 14, 2015. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Luxor is on the East Bank of the Nile. To get there from where we were staying, we took the microbus to the riverside and then hopped on a double storey ferry. After a few minutes waiting, another ferry moved alongside the one we are on, and everyone on board started climbing out into the new ferry! It was really fascinating to wonder about how the hall and temple was built. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Red S...

We didn’t get to see everything because of time and it was too hot! The microbus travels as safely as the rest of the Egyptian traffic, and with the door open. Some of the buses didn’t even have doors! We paid a separ...

Metals and coins get cleaned in much the same way but with chemicals too, and electrolysis. Oooooh. Electrolysis is scary because there’s wires and electricity and water… but what it does is really cool! You’d have to ask my coin lady scientist friend Liesel about that. Dr Chad, Dr Liesel, Dr Nurul and Dr Giorgio. Me gluing pictures in the log book.

Let's go adventuring! December 23, 2014. December 23, 2014. Then, one guy James (a walking, talking Egyptian-everything book) got super nerd-excited about something. We went down a path with a giant arched door. He said that this Serapeum had not been open for a while and we get to go inside! Massive day of exploring, despite the blaring heat of the sun and sand, it was an amazing day! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
