One of my heros, Anne Frank, captured the essence of my love and need for writing perfectly when she said, I can shake off everything if I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn. I am addicted to words, to thoughts to all things writing. I love the way words sound. The images they project. The emotions they provoke. Words are powerful magic. But wherever I meander, my enthusiasm for the written word doesn't stray far. Site developed by Nurv Consulting, LLC.

The birth of a novel. Shortly after a backpacking trip, I dreamed I stood in front of a large window, mesmerized by a beautiful, eerie glowing blue rain that illuminated the sky. Soon, I saw what the blue rain did to people and my awe turned to horror. I jolted awake, my muscles locked and the breath seized in my chest. As the vivid, heart-pounding images continued to throb in my mind, sleep fled. I tossed and turned until I finally surrendered to the impulse to get up and record the disturbing dream.

We cannot live without it, for this aesthetic heart syncs to the rhythm of our souls and provides the lifeblood of our very being. I left home when I was thirteen. My father was a gambler. We never had enough money. I found a small place to stay ...In the ho...
