SEEKING BALANCE: 01/2009
http://isis-seekingbalance.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 6 January 2009. The weeks after Christmas. Oh how I longed for this moment of relative peace. The best time was the week just after Christmas, when I was still off work and the daughter was still off school and we just slept in (something I haven't been able to do in years, and finally succeeded in doing again! It also included the traditional cookie baking and ice skating we try to teach our daughter. The skating pics turned out blurred (I need a new camera! We got quite a lot of snow and a col...

SEEKING BALANCE: 05/2008

Friday, 23 May 2008. In sickness and in health. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health while we both shall live. What if we weren't making this vow to someone else but to ourselves? I have been thinking about this a lot since it is now almost exactly 2 years ago that I was diagnosed with Sjögrens syndrome. An auto-immune illness which in my case has fortunately been quite mild in it's expression, so far. Why can't we tenderly c...

Friday, 12 December 2008. The weeks before Christmas. The only chore which we have managed to complete so far is getting the tree up and decorated, and this only happened because the daughter was home sick and we had an extra day to devote to it. The picture shows last year's tree but this year's is very much the same. Every morning gets off on a stressful start when I peek out the window to see if there's ice or snow on the cars and - God forbid! Oh the joys of Christmas, indeed. I need a religious/...

Thursday, 23 April 2015. Not sure of anything. I haven't been writing in this blog for five years. My life got so hectic and at moments hard to bear that I just left reflection out of it. Now I wonder if it is time to consider some form of journaling again. We'll see, I am not sure of anything right now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In past lives, I must have been at one time a witch, Irish, a great horsewoman, a writer, a painter, a cook, and probably many unmemorable things as well! Not sure of anything.

Thursday, 9 April 2009. Clutter, junk and mess, my three faithful friends. I am writing this down so I have a reason to get on with it. It's official, my house is a mess, always has been and it's been getting worse. I have next week off. It's now or never. I'll keep you all informed! Friday, 3 April 2009. Bad, bad blogger! Wow, I haven't written in quite a while here. Also, because I do so many different things, everything takes ages to complete and when something finally gets done, it has lost a lot of ...

Friday, 19 September 2008. Reconnecting with a friend I hadn't seen in nearly 28 years today made me put into words a half-formed thought I'd had in my head for weeks now. I don't know if this is true for most people, but I have definitely been rediscovering and redefining my "point of gravity" since I have entered my 5th decade (anyone not gifted in math, please note this means that I'm in my forties! And I am determined to enjoy this richer "me" for at least another 20 years! Thursday, 11 September 2008.

SEEKING BALANCE: Why ?
http://isis-seekingbalance.blogspot.com/2010/04/why.html
Monday, 26 April 2010. Why is it so hard for me to start this up again? I have no idea. I always enjoyed writing, wrote for the school student paper, wrote diaries a plenty, wrote loads of letters back when writing letters was still more common than writing emails, even had ambitions of writing a novel one day. But I suppose daily life took over. Surreptitiously. Without my noticing. From a spectator and a "reporter", I became a participant. Something I never was while growing up. And I must say I suspec...
