Nutmeg Photography Explorations

Saturday, 8 September 2012. Sadly I have reached my storage limit on this blogger account so I have decided to start a new blog at www.nutmegphotographyexplorationstake2.blogspot.com. The first photography post on that blog will be the one I've been trying to upload for the last 2 days: Birds of Prey at Suffolk Owl Sanctuary. Thursday, 6 September 2012. Wedding Photography: Matt and Jenni. These photos are a small selection I took. They drove to the reception at Hoveton Hall Gardens. In a Morris Minor!

Nutmeg Photography Explorations: April 2011

http://www.nutmegphotographyexplorations.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, 23 April 2011. Chioma is a good friend from the Christian Union at Bath Spa University. She is in her third year and asked me to take some photos so she could put one in the year book. We walked around Victoria Park for about an hour I think, admiring the cherry blossoms (which we both love! And taking photos. It was a perfectly blue-sky day and the lighting was lovely! I was able to use full manual mode and mess around with lighting. So here is a selection of my favourite photos. So I spent ab...

Sunday, 29 July 2012. Exploring Zambia Part 1: The Wildlife. Well I'm back from Zambia and settled back in the UK's beautiful sunny summer. We must have brought the hot African sun back with us! We spent a weekend in Livingstone being Muzungu (white people! Tourists. A weekend is not enough time to take in all the sights around Livingstone but if I had stayed longer I would have spent a lot more money! Impala, Baboon and a Buffalo with her calf. These guys had calves with them and were watchful of us but...

Nutmeg Photography Explorations: November 2011

Tuesday, 8 November 2011. Tom McNair- a Busker in Bath. University work has kept me busy and away from my camera over the last few weeks but finally, thanks to university work, I was able to pick up my camera and enjoy the freedom of photography. This time it was for a documentary film project. We were asked to go out and make a character study. Our group chose Tom McNair. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. London Inspiration?!: In the beginning ....

http://roseinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/04/in-beginning.html

Friday, 22 April 2011. In the beginning . A few years ago I bought a writers magazine for my daughter who was about to embark on a university course in creative writing. However, I. Found the mag fascinating and started putting pen to paper myself! Needless to say this can leave one in a rather quiet and melancholic state of mind. I have written short stories and poetry, but I don’t have the patience to carry an entire novel. Fortunately I’m a diary writer. For my first Christmas after finishin...Apart f...

Rose's Country Cooking!: Sweet Potato Tuna Jacket

http://rosescountrycooking.blogspot.com/2012/07/sweet-potato-tuna-jacket.html

How many people really stick to the exact instructions or ingredients of a recipe? But I have discovered that in changing a few ingredients, or totally omitting one or two things, I'm actually creating something quite different to the 'original' recipe. And if I put them altogether I could end up with my own 'original' recipe book! Here's some of the tweaked recipes, but don't just copy them, make your own tweaks and give it your own name! Then you can publish your own recipe book! Monday, 9 July 2012.

A little East: November 2012

http://rosescountryrose.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, 15 November 2012. Lately, while making my bed, I’ve been reminded of a set of books my children had. They were those book-club type books where you pay so much a month and get a book a month in the post. I can only remember a couple of the story books they got. ‘Little 6 o’clock’ was about the number 6 on a town clock who wanted to see the town and so left the clock face but had to be back before the clock hands reached his spot! And yes, it did work! And I admit, so do I! 8211; Ask them to tak...

The Lives & Times of Bella: Cat Encounters of the Bella Kind!

http://livesandtimesofbella.blogspot.com/2013/08/cat-encounters-of-bella-kind.html

The Lives and Times of Bella. Bella - a Shiba Inu (? Thursday, 8 August 2013. Cat Encounters of the Bella Kind! A couple of weeks ago while on the last walk of the day, but at the time when all the neighbourhood cats come out to play, Bella lost control, lunged after an unsuspecting kitty, snapped her. Extrastrong, long dog lead specifically designed for large and heavy dog breeds. And chased poor Kitty into a corner. Easy to control and she responded beautifully with no problems. So lunch time off we we...

London Inspiration?!: An Architectural Leaning to Arches

http://roseinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/09/over-last-two-weeks-in-chelmondiston.html

Saturday, 10 September 2011. An Architectural Leaning to Arches. Over the last two weeks in Chelmondiston, Suffolk, I've thought of many ideas for a blog. The daily newspaper which we don't usually get, but which the owners of the house we have been house-sitting for do, has provided many frustrating emotions, expressions of incredulity, and gasps of horror - mainly in connection with the national health service! So here they are, the arches of Leiston Abbey! And lastly, one of the altar:. Sean and Jen's...

London Inspiration?!: Hobnobbing in Chelsea!

http://roseinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/02/so-we-did-family-history-tour-little.html

Wednesday, 2 February 2011. So Tuesday we did the family history tour! A little while ago I discovered that Dave’s maternal ancestors had lived and worked in Chelsea, and since we’re in London, thought it would be fun to find their house, visit the church they were christened, married and buried in, and find their work place! Just a quick intro as to who we were tracing:. That’s the SA link, but I wanted to see where the Holesgrove family were in Chelsea. Before we tackled the higgledy-piggeldy Kensingto...

London Inspiration?!: "Sugar Baby Love" (The Rubettes 1974)

http://roseinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/02/sugar-baby-love-rubettes-1974.html

Tuesday, 8 February 2011. Sugar Baby Love" (The Rubettes 1974). So we were driving the 100miles back from a day out, windscreen wipers on, radio on, and I began to think …. who was the first guy who called his girlfriend “Baby”? And what was her reaction? Girlfriend pet-names, used in pop songs over many decades. I haven’t done huge research but Ted Lewis had a hit (7 weeks at number 1) with When my Baby Smiles at Me. In … 1920. Not the Peter Allen 1979 Dante's Inferno version! 8211; a plaything? She has...

Nutmeg Photography Explorations Take 2. Sunday, 31 May 2015. My Final DofE Expedition. So, armed with maps, route cards, charged phone, snacks, camping kit and my book, we started a day of supervising. While the team conquered the hill, walked through fields and ran from dancing bulls (their words, not mine), Mrs O and I sat on the side of the track and chatted. We watched the clouds clear, stopped a spider from climbing up my leg and chatted some more while taking in the beautiful fields and almost ...
