An athlete's journal to life after cancer! Paris to Ancaster – Dedication, ass-kicking and surprises. Grey County Road Race – hills, tears and triumphs! The “Ff’ing” kinda day! Niagara Classic Road Race. May 19, 2015. 8221; The alarm sounded at 5 am and the nightmare ended. I’m at the back…somewhere! 8:35 am, the gun shot, the race began and our neutral start bolted down the hill into the circuit of voluntary suffering. The young bucks hammered up the climb like it was a speed bump. My body said it w...

Lauren Hall: April 2014

Sunday, April 27, 2014. Howdy from Norwich, UK! Looking at my last post. Gelderland was a blow out race for me, meaning I was just getting over a cold and turning the corner on actually feeling like myself again and the race was just to test the lungs and legs. I felt decent for the first 50k and then I just went backwards, every time I wanted to go hard, my legs and lungs said, 'NO'! So there I am looking for the broom wagon and it never comes! So that was Gelderland. FW is one of my favorite races, it'...

Thursday, February 27, 2014. The last couple days of camp were FAST! Meetings, riding, more meetings, photos, then pack it ALL up and hit the road - everyone in different directions. Jade, Brie and Maura headed to Europe, Annie and Leah drove one of the team cars to Tucson, Janel drove home and the rest of us to headed home. The last day at camp we had a team BBQ on the beach, drank some adult beverages and just hung out. So here are some photos to finish er off. SRAM cruizin down the road. Dear mom and ...

Monday, September 16, 2013. After traveling via car boot, hatchback, way back in da back of tha car, we made it to Montecatini Terme and drove through town, a bit north to our beautiful apartments for a couple of days. Back up the hill we went! And there were girls racing well into 10pm! We all laughed about it and didn’t get back to the hotel till around midnight - ahhh Italy. Eating: mozzarella balls and fresh tomatoes. Watching: BBC, it’s the only English speaking channel on TV. Links to this post.

Lauren Hall: August 2013
http://laurenthall.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 5, 2013. After the Giro, I was home for 5 days before heading to Cascade Cycling Classic in Bend, OR - one of my favorite races. Travel wasn't the greatest on the way out: Durango-Denver-Las Vegas(this is where my bags stayed)-San Francisco-Redmond, OR = long day in airports but Vegas was cool:) I lost $2 in the airport slot machines;). The team did a stellar job delivering me to the line in the criterium and it was a photo finish that I took the victory. I didn't know I won until we r...

Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Poof and just like that it’s over. It’s such a bittersweet ending, I’m excited to go home, go on vacation, be a normal person - walk too much, drink too much, eat foods I know are bad for me without feeling guilty, go to sleep late, visit my family in Mississippi - but man I was wanting to race more. That’s a good sign for a rider, no burnout at the end of the year. Riding around in Villard de Lans. Top of the climb, it was so beautiful! Another fun ride with the girls. 2 vehi...
