North of the Red River: May 2011
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Thursday, May 19, 2011. I'm in the midst of a two-day middle-of-the-week "vacation." I needed some time to deal with personal things. On the top of my list today - cleaning out my closet. I really hate to part with clothes. But sometimes you have to take off the rose-colored glasses and take a close look in the mirror. Whoa, whatever made me think that looked good on me? Well, yes I am. My li...

North of the Red River: Even Cowgirls get the blues
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2012/10/even-cowgirls-get-blues.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Sunday, October 21, 2012. Even Cowgirls get the blues. It's after 1 am and I have an early day tomorrow. I should be sleeping. Instead I'm up listening to country music (King George), Blues and Buffett, and drinking rum. Then Saturday, we have a farewell for a good friend and boss at a local watering hole. That just makes me sad. That's where I am tonight folks. Eugene, Oregon, United States.

North of the Red River: DIY Addiction
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2012/12/diy-addiction.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Friday, December 28, 2012. I've just spent three hours watching back-to-back-to-back-to-back home renovation shows. From House Crashers to Property Brothers and High Low Project to Kitchen Cousins, the shows are addicting. I'm sure I'd make a mint if I wrote a 12-step plan to kick the DIY habit. This is not going to end well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Eugene, Oregon, United States.

North of the Red River: Paying it forward
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2013/09/this-year-ive-been-involved-in.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Saturday, September 21, 2013. This year I’ve been involved in providing Affordable Care Act. Education to community groups and partners, teaching people what the new health care law means to each of them personally. And this year after several trainings and countless presentations, I thought I really understood the impact the Affordable Care Act would have on millions of Americans. The bills ...

North of the Red River: July 2012
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Monday, July 23, 2012. Someone give me the past 48 hours back, please. Or to be more precise, give me back the 24 hours of the weekend that I’m sure I just threw away by doing nothing more than reading a magazine, looking over catalogues, playing on Facebook (not as much as you think) or watching television. I just don’t know what happened. I really have to figure out where the time was spent.

North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Sunday, July 31, 2011. I'm sitting on my bed in my pajamas and my house is screaming at me. "Get up! I'm choosing to ignore it right now. And, that's likely what got me into this mess in the first place. I envision my house to look like the pages of those beautiful rooms in. My once magazine-perfect living room has toys scattered here and there in corners from the grand kids recent visit....

North of the Red River: April 2012

North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Thursday, April 19, 2012. Being outdoors is overrated. I'm just saying. I have several facts to back up my claim. Sonny Bono would not have died had he not been sliding down a snow-covered mountain and crashed into a tree - OUTDOORS. For that matter, JFK might not have been assasinated if he hadn't been riding in a convertible with the top down, enjoying the OUTDOORS. Drown - Mostly OUTDOORS.

North of the Red River: November 2011

North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Sunday, November 20, 2011. Each day this month, a few friends have been using their Facebook status to post one thing for which they are thankful. I haven't been doing that, but I like that concept. Often the rest of my family, who are not "morning people" ask me why I'm always such a good mood in the mornings. Well, why not? Make your own list. Think about everything - even the simpliest...

North of the Red River: Candy Making
http://redrivernorth.blogspot.com/2012/12/candy-making.html
North of the Red River. A Texan living in any other part of the country is still a Texan. I now reside in Oregon. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. What the candy was supposed to look like. The Christmas Spirit took hold this week. That's your first warning. I felt like Martha Stewart on steroids - and a pot a coffee at this point. So, I decorated the mantel, plopped a tree on the front door, threw the Christmas towels in the bathroom. I was on a roll. My husband always talks glowingly of the candy his mother ...
