BLUENATIC: April 2011
http://bluenatic.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Who is this impostor, this Bizzaro Phil Simms? Thursday, April 14, 2011. In an increasingly crazy, unpredictable world in which there are few, if any, absolutes, it's reassuring as a sports fan to know that there are certain things that never change. Players, coaches. I like to use uniform numbers as mnemonic devices. Someone tells me to meet them at 4153 Main Street, I process that as Tom Seaver, Harry Carson Main Street. Someone tells me their phone number is 647-2731? Every game day in tribute. My bud...

Giants Atrocious, Nephew Precocious. Monday, September 27, 2010. As an added bonus, I got to see one of my all-time favorite Giants. In the flesh as we were walking into the stadium. I took it as a sign. Games will be won and games will be lost. Some weeks we will exit the stadium exhilirated and other weeks we will leave dejected. But I learned today that in the presence of the right company, there are no bad days at (New) Giants Stadium. Please, No Autographs. Sunday, September 12, 2010.

The new york football giants. Total Collapse. Giants Deserve to Lose, 24-21 ". Three straight losses, including one of the biggest collapses in franchise history (horrible, horrible memories of San Francisco floating around in my head.) Getting Stray and Umenyiora back on the field may be the only way to keep this season from devolving into a total train wreck, if it hasn't already. 3-0 in the NFC East is now a very tenuous life preserver. The new york football giants. 1 - 6-2 last year. 6-2 this year. New York has never gone 6-2 and not made the playoffs. 2 - Tipped passes. I've seen a lot of 'em. Eli throws low over the line of scrum. I mean, scrimmage. Maybe that's an artifact of the O-line effectively keeping the D away from Eli, but I haven't noticed any similar trend with Peyton or Brady (then again, I don't watch those games nearly as often.). The new york football giants. Purgatory, Continued ". We've all been waiting to see who was going to have Tom Coughlin's job next season. The wait is over. The answer. is Tom Coughlin. Maybe the Giants figured there were no significant upgrades to Coughlin on the market - which may be true, but his locker room cred is nonexistent. Which may mean that they're going to pursue Bill Cowher heavily in 2008 and don't want to tie themselves up in a marginal coach who'd only be in it for the short term. Imagine ...

The new york football giants. Atrocity By and Beyond The Numbers ". Here are five things that need to be corrected, defensively, if New York is going to rebound from their 1-2 start:. 5) Find a role for LaVar Arrington. 4) Cycle in Matthias Kiwanuka more often. 3) Start R.W. McQuarters at corner. But implement, and I would be very surprised if the Giants offense goes into the huddle during their first possession against Washington. Posted by z at. Posted by z at. BLUENATIC: My Night In the Giants Stadium Press Box

My Night In the Giants Stadium Press Box. Friday, October 29, 2010. I’ve been thinking a lot about Giants Stadium lately, and especially today, because it marks an anniversary of sorts. One year ago today I got my first and last glimpse at the Giants Stadium press box. And The New York Times. Before I ever stepped foot on campus at The University of Michigan, I'd already sent all of my clippings to the sports editor at The. Last fall, opportunity knocked when the fledgling United Football League announce...

BLUENATIC: Frank Gifford: Icon
http://bluenatic.blogspot.com/2013/08/frank-gifford-icon.html
Tuesday, August 20, 2013. I recently had the chance to fulfill a life-long dream by interviewing Giants legend Frank Gifford for the Fall 2013 issue of. Magazine, which I serve as a contributing editor. The version of the interview that runs in the magazine was edited down significantly due to space limitations, so I figured I'd post the full, unabridged 4,000-word interview here for the Giants diehards who might be interested. Enjoy. I find that kind of amazing, don’t you? Let me ask you about Charley&#...
