Monday, December 24, 2007. Going Big and Goin Home. After departing from the North Island I hung out in Christchurch for a few nights (thanks Jono) before heading west-word back to Hoki. Monday, July 30, 2007. The Crooked Round Two. Winter has been very dry here on the South Island and has provide very few opportunities for kayaking. After way to long of a hiatus I jumped on a recent rain warning on the went coast and headed to the Crooked River. Saturday, October 13, 2007. The Okuku is haled as Canterbury's best run and come Friday was sitting at a medium flow so off we went! Our fully loaded car takes on one of the many fords. The run has a fairly dauntingly long shuttle and a hand full of fords along the way. Thankfully we had recruited a shuttle driver which made the outing much more enjoyable. Ben cruising along.
