AUMSA Blog Entry 7 Specialty Medicine. This is a 6-week run comprised of two 3-week stints chosen from a selection of specialties. For me, they were cardiology and renal. I started with cardiology. This was my first run in the medical half and on the first day, I immediately noted the differences compared to the surgical half! 1 No bustling around to hunt for patient’s notes. You see all the patients in cardiology ward. Duh. 2 0715 starts were unheard of. 3 Ward rounds will sometimes last past 1600.

Hopefully some of these may be useful for your study or revision, especially regarding Progress Test! We have not trialed each of these, but they are suggestions from other students, so have a look and see what may work for you! If you have anything to add, please email president@aumsa.org.nz. And let us know. Clinical-scenario based question resources. ND - New Doctor.
