Sixteen people joined our latest introductory tai chi course at Voluntary Action Rutland (VAR), Land’s End Way, Oakham LE15 6RB – and saw demonstrations of the traditional Yang Family Form, a rarely seen Fast set, and Pushing Hands as well as joining in the first regular class. Tai chi for health. Yang family tai chi. Each tai chi class lasts for between 1 to 1½ hours and has three main sections:. Preparatory exercises to help relax and loosen the limbs. A standing or sitting exercise to develop fitness, awareness and concentration (called “Qi Gong”).
