I met my lovely Kiwi wife in veterinary school and after ten years of practicing and having two young children we decided a lifestyle change was in order and relocated to Taranaki. Floating my horse's teeth - Why it's important? Why should I have my horse's teeth floated? Through my experience with all types of horses I have realized the importance of good dentistry. In general, horses should have their mouths properly examined once a year. This needs to done with light sedation, a full mouth speculum, and any work minimal or advanced should take place at that time. The reason for sedation and a full. Mouth speculum is to SEE. Dropping feed or spitting out balls of feed (quidding).
