I realized that there are a lot of inequalities throughout education and that people who come from poor backgrounds and families are at a disadvantage, compared to those who come from rich families who go to good schools. I was born in Korea and moved to the states when I was 13 and had similar experience. But instead of trying harder in my English classes, I kind of found my way to avoid them and eventually became an Engineering major here at Cal.
