Friends of Oban Hospice. We currently offer or contribute to the following services:. The Day Care Service operates in Lynnside Day Centre, Soroba Road, every Monday excluding public holidays. Sitting area within easy reach of treatment room and toilets. Dining area with small kitchen. Access to outside courtyard. One treatment room and one screened area in the sitting area where therapists offer complementary therapies. Provision can be made for confidential conversations. District Nurse by appointment.

Friends of Oban Hospice. Friends of Oban Hospice. In April 1999 an initial public meeting was held in Oban. It resolved to take the movement with a Board and a fund raising group, namely the Friends. Both arms developed on their own, as separate charities, and the Friends transfer across monies raised at the end of each year. Over the years fundraising ventures have included Light up a Life, shops, Christmas card sales, coffee mornings, lunches, bottle stalls, raffles, rally, fashion shows, etc.

Friends of Oban Hospice. The late Betty Dunlop, a retired nurse, encouraged by a few years of public discussion in the late 90’s, proposed a formal arrangement for Palliative care in the Lorn and Oban area; the setting up of our own hospice. A Public meeting was convened, extremely well attended, and resulted in the formation of Oban Hospice Limited, a Charity and company limited by Guarantee.
