Sting of the Lash. Thursday, October 8, 2009. Leftist, Statist or anti-Realist? I have been thinking a lot today about a post from my friend and, dare I say, blogging mentor, who can be found at http:/ objectiveeye.blogspot.com. He copied a great article by Steven Malanga (Manhattan Institute) called "Tax the Rich? October 9, 2009 at 11:32 AM. Your blog has more traffic than my own. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sting of the Lash: You Call this Poverty?
http://stingofthelash.blogspot.com/2011/09/you-call-this-poverty.html
Sting of the Lash. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. You Call this Poverty? I write this post from Manila, the Pearl of the Orient. Manila is not a bad place - I have seen worse, but let's face it, there is poverty all around me. Like Mexico City, Kathmandu, Bangkok, Buenos Aires or Paris (all cities that I know reasonably well), Manila has very wealthy enclaves (OK, maybe Kathmandu doesn't have one of those) that are a long baseball (Go. Dave's Right Side: October 2010
http://therightsideofdave.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 11, 2010. Reaping What You Sow. The economic policies that the Obama Administration has implemented through legislation, and countenanced by appointing Timothy "Weak Dollar" Geithner to the position of. Treasury Secretary, and re-appointing as Chairman of the Federal Reserve Ben "I'm printing Money til it hurts" Bernanke are having the opposite effect. You reap what you sow! Is that too much to ask for? If a low tax rate is the Burpees Big Boy seed of economic growth, stable money is the ...

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. White House Hopes for Economic Growth. But Won't Change It's Counterproductive Policies. Yeah, Well, Good Luck with that! The good news is that an accelerated recovery can get underway any time the administration wants, but it will require them to make that hard pivot they have been talking about. They need to turn away from raising taxes, encourage the production of our domestic energy resources and stabilize the value of the dollar. Links to this post. On a gold standard, nor...

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Pump Primining is Nonsense. Tax Reform is What's Needed. To hear our Representatives in Washington and their economic guru's talk, the economy works like a pump, which they have been busy priming with large amounts of government spending, courtesy of taxpayer canteens. Their theory is that once they have primed the pump sufficiently business activity will flow and end the current economic drought. If that is not a system rigged to stifle production, what is? Dave's Right Side: Washington Wants a VAT... What They Need is a Twelve Step Program
http://therightsideofdave.blogspot.com/2010/03/washington-wants-vat-what-they-need-is.html
Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Washington Wants a VAT. What They Need is a Twelve Step Program. What's a Value Added Tax ( VAT) you ask? Well, like I said, it's a Tax on everything. It's looking like 2010 may yet be the year we try to tax ourselves into prosperity. You can do that, can't you? Can't wait till it happens, right? Well, don't hold your breath. The VAT won't even come close to living up to it's advance billing. How do I know this, you ask? Or Post classified ads world wide. View my complete profi...

Sunday, December 27, 2009. The Panty Bomber.Place Your Knickers on the Conveyor and Step away from the Machine. Why is it that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a last minute, cash paying customer on an international flight, whose only carry on luggage was his Panty Bomb, was not subject to the same level of scrutiny that I received when I flew from Tampa to Newark NJ to attend my uncle's funeral? I booked the trip late. So what were Umar's excuses? Oh yeah, that's right, he wanted to blow up the plane! It took...

Sting of the Lash. Wednesday, September 14, 2011. A Very Difficult District for Democrats". 100 years and 3:1? Where do these people come up with this stuff? If that is a difficult district, I shudder (in a good way, like Chris Matthews thinking of Barack Obama) to think of what is going to happen to the Democrats in 2012. Links to this post. Dave's Right Side: July 2009
http://therightsideofdave.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Small Business Squarely in the Government's Crosshairs. The Obama Administration and it's policies have the business community squarely in it's cross hairs and is moving in for the kill. Proposed taxes on energy, increased taxes on businesses to pay for expanding health care coverage, and the rising cost of complying with ever more regulation are serving to choke off profits and restrict growth at the very time our country needs them the most. A business only grows. What politic...
