Beancounting

Sunday, January 25, 2009. From the depths of the pit. Ok, I confess I'd never actually heard of Alphabeat. In fact, I reckon I've heard of about two-thirds of the songs this year (a pretty good ratio for me), but even so I know from experience that I'll find myself hearing some of them in shops and bars over the next few months and startling companions by going "aaaaaah! THAT's how this one goes! Right I suppose I'd better go. Take That coming up. Posted by OboeJane at 1:42 pm. Saturday, January 24, 2009.

Beancounting: March 2006

http://oboejane.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 06, 2006. My sister keeps emailing me pictures of vomit-inducing seventies food. Like this one:. Although this is not so much vomit-inducing, as actual vomit encased in aspic. Is this what our parents got up to before we were born? Posted by OboeJane at 6:08 pm. Thursday, March 02, 2006. Should you make your lunch sarnies the night before or in the morning? Risk of forgetting them, they go a bit soggy. Risk of missing the train. Posted by OboeJane at 1:37 pm. View my complete profile.

Monday, January 30, 2006. Bad Science on Guardian Unlimited: if you've not read it, essentially it's a geeky bloke demolishing the rubbishy science used to sell things, and therefore allows you to laugh openly at stupid people. Let's face it, there are few better things in life than that. However, this week's article is slightly different. Answer: not much, but I didn't need a website to tell me that]. Posted by OboeJane at 9:58 pm. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I command respect - but am still approachable".

Beancounting

http://oboejane.blogspot.com/2008/12/interval-so-far-weve-had-one-with-three.html

Saturday, December 27, 2008. So far we've had:. The one with the three comedy oboes. You know the one: it's also got a couple of french horns sounding like they've wandered in midway through a hunt, tantivvying across the rest of the music like they haven't worked out what's going on. The flute, violin and demented harpsichordist one. I don't know about two skeletons copulating in a cupboard. This one's more like a frenzied skeleton orgy. Posted by OboeJane at 8:44 pm. Beancounting: February 2006

Monday, February 27, 2006. Cat owning: ultimate selfishness? My dislike of cats increases every year. At this rate, I will wind up as a leather-faced old biddy living in sheltered accommodation leaving out rat poison for all the "beloved companions" and rubbing my arthritic hands in glee. Last year it was that ugly fat ginger cat that caught a collared dove in my back garden and ripped off its wing without actually killing it. Bleurgh. Posted by OboeJane at 3:18 pm. Friday, September 29, 2006. To celebrate my birthday quarter drawing to a close (for future reference, my birthday quarter spans July to September), I treated myself to two new dvds from Amazon:. BBC version - another 5 hour epic to enjoy on "poorly days", when I've already watched P&P). Posted by OboeJane at 4:53 pm. Thursday, September 28, 2006. Email just in from Uzbekistan:. This week is like ticking off my last meals. Not sure yet - will update. Think I am meeting Everol for lunch. My favourite plac...

Oh, the glamour...: November 2005

http://rachelsimons.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Oh, the glamour. Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Have you missed me? I have been off sick. In my opinion there are 3 bad things about being off work. 2) feeling guilty about being off work cos you're sick. 3) having 3 days worth of work to catch up in one day when you get back from being sick. Now go away and leave to me to snivel in my corner. Posted by Rach at 10:13. Saturday, November 26, 2005. Posted by Rach at 21:40. Friday, November 25, 2005. Posted by Rach at 17:27. Oh, the glamour. Monday, January 30, 2006. Yesterday I discovered that, despite all previous beliefs to the contrary, Black Cherry Yoghurt is quite nice. I have been actively avoiding said yogurt for most of my life, but in the spirit of adventure I gave it another chance. I am now wondering what else I think I don't like but actually do. This is my list:. Foods to try again once reaching adulthood'. 3) cauliflower Cheese. God, we used to have this for tea. I'm not a very fussy eater really; I'll eat mos...

Oh, the glamour...: December 2005

http://rachelsimons.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Oh, the glamour. Monday, December 19, 2005. Tis the season to be jolly. It's the time of year when we are all loving, giving and merry. The spirit of generosity courses through our veins as we forget the grey meanness of the year behind us and look forward with a sense of well being and fondness for our fellow man. How then did the following conversation come about? Happily humming a Christmas ditty while making a pot of tea for us all). How many tea bags are you using in that pot? Posted by Rach at 12:28.

Oh, the glamour...: October 2005

http://rachelsimons.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html

Oh, the glamour. Monday, October 31, 2005. Interesting phenomenon, part 2. I have been keeping a close eye on this particular phenomenon for a number of years because, for obvious reasons, I wouldn't want to test the theory out on purpose. I have discovered that, on the rare and infrequent times I get BO, it only seems to occur under my LEFT armpit. Never the right. Why would this be? Has anyone else noticed strange non-symmetrical body happenings? No comments about testicles please.). There is something...
