Sunglasses for Icarus: February 2009

Monday, 23 February 2009. The Boy Who Lost, Day 1. Felt like a violation of my assumed safety. If this stone could slip so easily from my pocket, what else could slip away, with or without my knowing? When I found (was I given? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunglasses for Icarus: June 2008
http://sunglassesforicarus.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 June 2008. See most of life is lived in anticipation, but what sacred bliss to know that the best is behind you? No more worrying will I miss it. Will I recognize it when it comes; will it even come at all? What safety in retrospect, what undeniable grief and clearness of path! Leave along the implications that has for me.) I am building a castle, a big one, and thinking of buying a clock and a candelabra. I am insisting on a large ball room; I don't really know why. Links to this post. If you...

Sunglasses for Icarus: August 2008

Monday, 18 August 2008. The BEGINNING of the World, Pt 1. Here is how the world began: a card trick to put the devil in his place. See, God was throwing aces against the wall of time one day when the devil caught one and bet God he couldn't make a universe in under a week. God said "wtf" (which is where Gamers get it from), just like he'd been insulted, and totally took that bet. It's pretty easy to explain. Links to this post. Sunglasses for Icarus: July 2008
http://sunglassesforicarus.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 8 July 2008. I am bleeding technicolor red all over an ornate park bench in Central Square. I am tracing the patterns of the pigeons who walk, scrambling for food, like tiny telegraph tickers and miniature marching bands. They spell your name over and over again, and I mark them in time, chalk dots flamed white under the naked light of the moon. You had just the color of the naked moon. I emerge before sunrise, spotless, flaming white. Links to this post. Thursday, 3 July 2008. For You 101 Freaks.

“To All Who Were Waiting for Redemption” |
https://heidileann.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/to-all-who-were-waiting-for-redemption
Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace. (Frederick Buechner). 8220;To All Who Were Waiting for Redemption”. February 1, 2014. With no other hope left to me, I moved in to the temple. And there, when my life should have been over, it began. I was little more t...

Sticks & Stones: June 2008
http://ajvalentine.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. The Little Boy sits politely, hands in lap, molesting the shiny knife rows with his eyes. Cairo smiles, hands him one. “They’re made. To be touched,” he says. “And don’t be excessively careful.”. He gulps. “What are they all for? 8220;Hurting people.” Cairo twirls a blade in a curt spin, sheaths it, watches. The apprentice copies – hums a riddle: “Sticks and stones may break my bones…”. 8211; fumbles; looks, fascinated, as a ribbon of blood winds down his finger. 8221; he says.

[ghost festival]: DEGAUSSER.
http://mynineteenthtry.blogspot.com/2011/03/degausser.html
Friday, March 18, 2011. When Degausser comes back to life, its kind of awkward, and pretty much everyone thinks its more or less in bad taste. Something about it being done before; and that the other. Guy had supposedly pulled it off in three days. “Copycat” stings a bit, but “knock-off” just makes him smile: Degausser's saving days are over, and he hasn't used that particular alias in a few months now. They'd figure it out eventually. Still, it'd be nice. The bitch about resurrection and not.
