Observations of a Nerd: How Twitter Made Me Into A Citizen Journalist
http://observationsofanerd.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-twitter-made-me-into-citizen.html
Saturday, February 27, 2010. How Twitter Made Me Into A Citizen Journalist. I awoke this morning at 5:50 am because of a nightmare, only to hop online and find out another one had occurred in Chile. An 8.8 magnitude earthquake had struck. Ten minutes later, the first tsunami warning siren sounded. Tweeted my first tweet of the day: "Ah fuck. Serious tsunami warning. Not cool.". Somehow, I had crossed a line; I had become a citizen journalist. Why did so many people find my updates so interesting? It was ...
Observations of a Nerd: Why a Nerd?
http://observationsofanerd.blogspot.com/2008/09/why-nerd.html
Thursday, September 18, 2008. I've often been referred to as a nerd, dork, geek, etc, so I thought I ought to own up to it right away. I wouldn't want to give the impression that this blog is going to be written by someone with immaculate fashion sense and a keen eye for shoes. But which, pray tell, am I really? A nerd, a dork, or a geek? It turns out that the three don't exactly mean what I thought they did, and after extensive Wikipedia research I've settled on Nerd. Why? Posted by Christie Lynn. Chris...

The Suburban Housecat
http://www.paw-talk.net/blog/cat
Hello, dearest readers of Paw-talk. My name is Fin, although I’m known by many names Finny, Finny de Floof, and Speed Bump, to name a few. I’m a grannycat, a senior citizen if you will. I’m an only pet, which means I have no one I have to share my litter box with. I live with my two human parents in the suburbs of Las Vegas Nevada. Wait, is that someone in the kitchen, by the can opener? Oh, it is, I gotta go! Now where was I? Is that a bug? Moth I don’t eat those, they tend to repeat on you.

This blog is now currently inactive (no active posting), as of 12 Jun 2013. Thank you. Closure of a blog. Hi everyone, I am closing this blog officially (i.e. I won't be posting here anymore). I've had lots of draft posts I wanted to post in the past two years but perhaps with no courage to post them and also the lack of time to curate the blog posts properly. But it's alright, I'm moving on. Hope you've enjoyed the blog posts here though! Do visit, if you like. This is blog is officially closed. Insects...

Finding joy in the journey. Monday, July 20, 2015. I shall never cease to be amazed at what lives inside me. Next to the magnificent and intricate innerworkings of my human body lies the center of all things wicked- my sinful self. How utterly disheartening. It was a drive home from town. A drive home on a two lane road at five o'clock in the evening with ice cream on the seat beside me and eight cars in front of me. The red Buick in the rear charged forward and toward the front of the line. Lanes na...

Observations of an Eternal Optimist. A blog about the power of positivity from a girl who believes in magic! Thursday, September 9, 2010. I found out today that I am invited to represent the USA on the Paralympic Track team at the World Championships in New Zealand. We had three other families and two of JJ's friends so I think our grand total was 24. I think everyone had fun. I sure did! Observations of a News Junkie. September 15, 2014 at 4:24 pm ( Ministry. To do before I die. I did it. I really went to Africa. I’ve always thought it was a fairly lofty goal, even considering the intense travel bug I’ve had for most of my life. But late last month, my husband and I boarded a plane bound for the dark continent. It was a long flight; the world is a big place. And Africa is so completely different from the countries I’ve called home. Gulu, to be specific. Bathing in a bucket of cold water.
