Observations of the Invisible: Becoming Invisible

http://www.observationsoftheinvisible.blogspot.com/2010/12/becoming-invisible.html

Observations of the Invisible. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. I used to believe in butterflies.I grew up nestled in my cocoon waiting for the day when my wings would flare brightly and people would notice me.that day never came. There is something to be said for the view you get when someone sits on you because they don't notice that you're there.when you get stepped on.again.and jostled into yet another wall with an absent "didn't see you there" as the only concession to your existence. Only wanted freedom,.

Observations of the Invisible. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. It is amazing what a few miles can do. For a runner, distance breeds accomplishment. Each step away from their starting point, each regulated breath is infused with discovery and victory as they speed closer to their personal goals: fitness, discipline, joy. I know she'll miss me when I reach my small town. the land of ocean water and blueberries.but I'm lucky.because if the last six years are any indication.it's only going to brin...

The Things I Think About…Flipped Inside Out. Chicago Vacation: Day One (of 4). November 8, 2013. Can come crash on your couch? I just need to get away for a little while. Life was a little overwhelming. Okay, okay, life was a lot overwhelming. It was too much to handle and I needed to escape from reality for a while. Even now, after I typed those words, I just sat back and smiled as the memories danced through my head. It was a happy place. Friday, November 1, 2013. Click here for Day Two. You are commen...

Winter Nights | The Things I Think About...Flipped Inside Out

https://flippedinsideout.wordpress.com/2013/12/09/winter-nights

The Things I Think About…Flipped Inside Out. December 9, 2013. The snow quietly drifts to earth. The world: hushed and motionless – as if someone has pressed the ‘pause’ button. The sun has disappeared. The gathered, reflective flakes assure me the world is not actually dark. Light bounces off the snow, making the scene much brighter than reality. I stand in the snow. It gently, effortlessly, kisses my exposed hair. I inhale deeply. A smile eases its way onto my lips. The air is cold, but pleasant.

The Things I Think About…Flipped Inside Out. Camp: Favorite Moment as a Photographer. June 28, 2010. As a camp photographer you see a lot of things. You meet a lot of kids. You realize really quickly that there are kids who ADORE having their picture taken (there was this one little girl who every time she saw one of us she would ask “will you shoot me? 8221; – meaning will we take her photo, of course), and those who absolutely hated it, and those who really were just pretty oblivious. Of her own accord!

Saturday was my ‘be a tourist’ day. I slept in, was greeted by the sunshine streaming in the windows. It was beautiful. We had brunch at a place called ‘Over Easy’. Best breakfast restaurant in Chicago! When I replied in the affirmative he immediately, in a singsong voice, exclaimed mis-take! It was quite near midnight when we left and beg...
