Phoyote: September 2009
http://phoyote.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 16, 2009. 24 questions with Shonny Vanlandingham. Asking Shonny to do this interview was one of the harder things I have done. Not just because she is one of the best female mountain bikers of all time, but because of her stature and what she has accomplished in her life already at such a young age. This will show you what hard work and determination can bring you. Photo credit to Rich Cruise. What was your first bicycle? XR75 Honda and a Pink Huffy with knobby tires. 100% Kona coffe...

Phoyote: July 2010
http://phoyote.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 6, 2010. The BC Bike Race 2010. I would like to say that I am a firm believer in living by flying off the seat of your pants (not a big planner, just winging it; advice from my mentor and teacher Zoriah Miller). I did not scope out any trails, or have any insight really about what to expect from the BCBR. You could tell who the locals were on the prologue; they had the hometown advantage for sure. Friday, November 20, 2009. New post about strength. It has been sometime since I have posted anything, but I thought I would share something with you all. I know at one point in your lives cancer has touched you or someone close to you. But for those that haven't experienced it this makes it a little bit more real! Here is the link I would like to share with you. Http:/ gallery.kerrymansfield.com/aftermath/. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Olympics can be magic. More Mud at Hoogerheide WC. From what I c.

Phoyote: June 2011
http://phoyote.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Test of Metal 2011, June 18, 2011. Last year at the TOM it was my first time in Squamish and I really had no idea what the course was like and came ill prepared for it. But since my dismal performance from last year I was never going let it happen again. I had a year to prepare myself for this event and I was going to get some excellent photos in 2011. The night before the race it rained in Squamish right until around 7:0oam on race day which made trails muddy in spots. One ...

Phoyote: The Test of Metal
http://phoyote.blogspot.com/2010/06/test-of-metal.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. The Test of Metal. Geoff Kabush/ Max Plaxton on right. The Test of Metal has been around since 1991 and is still the most popular Mountain Bike race in Canada (also the largest). The racecourse is 67km of double track, single track(37km), and some pavement. The race starts at the Recreation centre and goes out into the outlying area of Squamish. 9 of the previous winners of T.O.M. It was an interesting contrast, where else would this happen besides at the TOM? The first section of ...

BikingBakke: October 2014
http://bikingbakke.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 October 2014. Sunday, 26 October 2014. Manitoba Grand Prix of Cyclocross. Cindy and I ate and went to bed early on Saturday, tired and she was a superfan all day who needed rest. We did the lazy thing and got room service breakfast, the went out for a nice breakfast at Cibo with Shawn, Ashley, Peter Lawrence and Ian Auld. They didn't say anything, but I could see in their eyes the "dude why"/ the slow poke here? Once in front I hope he saw that when The next rider passed both he and I, how I j...

BikingBakke: August 2014
http://bikingbakke.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 August 2014. Jon had us over for a barbecue. The only condition was that first we were going riding. We were told portions of this were impassable, but we had high ambitions. As it turns out, that advice probably is correct if given to the elderly, french poodles, and those lacking stamina, fortitude, and the company of good men. Horses nor dirt bikes nor Land Rovers nor men on foot could have spanned this route today. But guys with cyclocross bikes was a different story. We picnicked on sausa...
