Obsessive Behaviour

Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Well, last week a four week cycle finished, and test week arrived. First up was the pool - this time in a 25m pool, as I've given up with the ultra busy 50m pool, that is also further away. I expected to be faster, 25m vs 50m is alway a couple of seconds per 100m faster, and I was fitter. The test is always the same - 4x100m build to warm up, and then 3x300m @ 30s rest. Result is the average pace per 100m for the 900m set. On the 13.12.2010 - 1:58/100m. This improvement was tot...

Obsessive Behaviour: Testing... testing

http://obsessivebehaviour.blogspot.com/2010/12/testing-testing.html

Saturday, December 18, 2010. A quick update on training. Prep phase of six weeks is complete - a really light prep phase seeing as it's been so long since I've done anything meaningful. Finished with an FTP power test indoors on the bike with PoweTap, result 212W. Ugh. Swimming test in a 50m pool 3x300m on 30s rest yielded a T Pace of 1:58 / 100m. Also Ugh. I could hardly move my arms in the third 300m rep. Luckily there's a loooong way to go before IMDE next year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Obsessive Behaviour: January 2011

http://obsessivebehaviour.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 22, 2011. Testing, Training Update. A quick update on the training progress. It's all good news, really. On the 11.12.2010, my first FTP test after the Prep Period gave a result of 212W FTP. Next test on 04.01.2011, and a massive improvement to 236W! I was shocked at this, and had the feeling that during the test, I could have pushed harder, but hey, the result's good anyway. My aim for the IM is to have FTP 250W and 1:40/100m Swim TH. So far, so good. 60min TH / VO2 max intervals.

Obsessive Behaviour: November 2010

http://obsessivebehaviour.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 21, 2010. Prep weeks 1 - 3 Down. Finally an update after a few weeks of preparation phase training. Firstly the heel. Good news is that it has shown no reaction to the cycling or swimming. Walking is absolutely pain free - thanks to the Nike Free's traumeel Gel (either genuine or placebo effect, I don't really care). The only downside is that there is still a small sore spot when performing the "point toes and press" test. Then, all being well, the ankle will be 100% better, and I can st...

I've never baked a cobbler before, so when our BWD bake came up this week, I was none the wiser! The recipe on page 415 of Baking from my home to yours by Dorie Greenspan. Called for rhubarb and cherry cobbler. Since cherries are not in season this side of the world, and those that are available are imported and cost an arm and a leg (R36.00 for a 200g punnet! The Obsessive Book Worm. January 30, 2018 · 10:08 AM. Top Ten Tuesdays: Best Re-reads. I am a huge fan of the re-read. It’s like seeing an old friend and discovering that you still have a ton in common and are an even better fit than you were before. I always discover something new or something I had forgotten when I read a book or series again. Here are some of my favorite to visit over and over again. 3 Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss – This book cracks me up and is a nice refresher on bas...

First we decided on what each letter would stand for, then I painted the wood with a few coats of primer and some white silk paint, and then I got designing LM’s letters on Photoshop, using free fonts from DaFont to create letters that were similar in style to their theme. We then began to paint each letter with acrylic paint:. My favourites are P, F and Y! Little Man’s Alphabet:. Domestic Q...
