Tuesday, November 22, 2011. The model in my figure drawing group had these long, slender dreadlocks. She wove them into a sort of crown that made me think of the headdresses of ancient Egyptians. Monday, July 26, 2010. Swing Bridge, Sunset Beach, NC. I managed to complete one sketch while visiting with most of my family for a few days last week. Sometimes- okay- ALL the time- you have to choose between drawing and participating. Monday, October 3, 2011. New work - sketches. This group came up out of nowhere. I had dug out a bunch of gesture drawings prior to my show reception just before I started applying black gesso to a canvas. The silky feel of the thin paint suggested a quick sketch to me so I just went with it- I did these from some old gesture drawings.
