Occasional Baking: December 2012
http://occasionalbaking.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Celebrating Mishaps and Miracles in the Kitchen. Tuesday, December 4, 2012. TWD and BWJ: Gingerbread Baby Cakes. This cake is very rich and moist. I'm not crazy about molasses, but I like the cake better each time I taste it. It's just that the cake looks like it should be chocolate and when I bite into something thinking it's going to taste like chocolate and it doesn't, well . That means we get to choose any recipe we want from the collections of chefs that have been featured in the past six years. That is not a small set of choices. I went with chicken teriyaki. Occasional Baking: Ketchup
http://occasionalbaking.blogspot.com/2016/07/ketchup.html
Celebrating Mishaps and Miracles in the Kitchen. Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Patience. The key ingredient to making ketchup is patience. Other than that, it is a breeze to make. The recipe can be found in Curtis Stone's book What's for Dinner. You may note that the recipe is part of a meat loaf and mashed potatoes meal, but with the temperatures hitting triple digits, I'm not about to turn on the oven or make a heavy meal. We'll just have to use the ketchup on grilled hamburgers or hot dogs. Ive never made k...

I deviated a little from the recipe, took into account other people’s comments on the TWD blog, and came out with something yummy! I also doubled the romano cheese and added another pinch of salt, since most people said the filling was bland. Mine came out and was husband-approved: salty, but not too salty. It was cheesy deliciousn...My pi...

The Occasional Banister Progressive Music Baltimore Maryland
Musical progress in practice. The Occasional Banister are a Baltimore, Maryland-based original music quartet. The sound is not unfamiliar, but defies neat categorization. Don't ask the band, unless pensive boogie or granola funk gets your ears perked. When collective influences run from The Beatles to Yes, with stops at Allan Holdsworth, Prefab Sprout, King Crimson and XTC, the trip can get interesting. Listen to the music. For yourself. Bring a beverage. Page for the whos and with-whats.
