A #6 aluminum needle has been known to furnish an excellent emergency shearpin for an outboard motor. Elizabeth Zimmermann. Friday, October 31, 2014. My cousin Cara sent me this pic of her baby Izzy (Isaiah Benjamin) wearing the hoodie sweater I made for him. It's a Rowan pattern called Hazel, knit with 100% washable merino wool from Plymouth . The buttons are Tagua nut (vegetable ivory) from Britex, washable as well. The little girl is Kate. So, without further ado, meet Izzy and Kate.
OceanKnitter: Bigger Begonia Swirl
http://oceanknitter.blogspot.com/2015/07/bigger-begonia-swirl.html
A #6 aluminum needle has been known to furnish an excellent emergency shearpin for an outboard motor. Elizabeth Zimmermann. Friday, July 03, 2015. Some knitters have been asking how I made the Begonia Swirl. Bigger, so my project tips are below. I decided to enlarge the shawl, and added one begonia per each section (went from 22 to 33 begonias). I used 1,980 glass Miyuki seed beads, rose bronze color, size 8/0. The delightful yarn from Violet Lynx. To get the larger size, three begonias per repeat, I had...

A #6 aluminum needle has been known to furnish an excellent emergency shearpin for an outboard motor. Elizabeth Zimmermann. Sunday, August 17, 2014. OceanKnitter's Center-Pull Ball Tutorial. I was asked to post a video tutorial of how I make a center-pull ball. This is a handy skill to learn. If you have a swift and a winder, you probably think that you'll never need to wind a ball this way. Let me convince you why this is a good skill to learn and know. 7) You can do it anywhere because you're a super k...

lafarrelly: Weaving Handspun on my Cricket
http://lafarrelly.blogspot.com/2012/10/weaving-handspun-on-my-cricket.html
I never met a fiber art I didn't like. Thursday, October 25, 2012. Weaving Handspun on my Cricket. I spent a good part of the summer weaving up some handspun singles that have been lying around for a couple of years. It was lovely wool, spun from layered rovings purchased from SnokistFarmGirl. In 2009. Since I had only a few ounces of each color combination, I decided to warp my rigid heddle and weave some scarves. The scarves are light and airy, soft and warm. I played with stripes in the warp,.

Ramblings of a knitting fool. An ongoing account of the trials and tribulations.not to mention the joys.of knitting socks (and lots of other things! Saturday, February 21, 2009. She doesn't get it. My darling daughter, who gets so much of everything, does not get my fascination/obsession with yarn. Yesterday, as a treat for enduring yet more tests, I went to both LYS. I was ostensibly searching for the Magical Mitten pattern. I should have spent the time fondling my stash yarn instead. She turned it over...
