Ocean Street Garden: May 2009

http://www.oceanstreetgarden.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. We just got back from a weekend away and returned to a thriving garden thanks to some neighbors and relatives. . On Friday, Charlotte and I worked until after dark to plant up the eggplant and pepper seedlings to complete the 20' x 6' bed that also contains the tomato plants.  We have 12 tomato plants, 6 eggplant and 16 peppers.   . The two pre-existing shaded beds are cleared and full of wildflower seed from Garden in the Woods.  We shall see what comes up. Monday, May 18, 2009.

Ocean Street Garden: July 13 already

http://www.oceanstreetgarden.blogspot.com/2009/07/july-13-already.html

Monday, July 13, 2009. To finally update, the sun is out after a ridiculously wet June.  This means the peppers and eggplants are finally starting to grow instead of just sitting there getting eaten by flea beetles. The tomatoes are growing well and have maintained a disease-free state despite all the rain.  Our first sungold cherry tomatoes are visible.  . The herb garden is filling in, and hopefully the new batch of basil I transplanted in will be ready when we start harvesting the tomatoes.  . We will...

Ocean Street Garden: June 2009

http://www.oceanstreetgarden.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 25, 2009. Another salad is the focus of tonight's meal.  The lettuce is still bountiful and we are mostly through our second sowing of arugula with a third on the way.  Tonight's salad will feature beets, boiled and chopped.  We've begun harvesting the broccoli as of tonight. Picking tonight's meal we noticed the raspberry crop coming in.  Charlotte's work of thinning the canes has (according to the neighbors) enabled a bumper crop. Friday, June 19, 2009. The peas are in need of bigger sta...

Ocean Street Garden: July 2009

http://www.oceanstreetgarden.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 24, 2009. Here is a harvest that we are taking with us to Vermont this weekend.  We had a few inches of rain last night and so hopefully the garden won't dry out while we are away. Monday, July 13, 2009. To finally update, the sun is out after a ridiculously wet June.  This means the peppers and eggplants are finally starting to grow instead of just sitting there getting eaten by flea beetles. The cucumbers, too, are enjoying the sun and are starting to send out their tendrils which I will g...

Ocean Street Garden: From this Fall

http://www.oceanstreetgarden.blogspot.com/2009/12/blog-post.html

Sunday, December 20, 2009. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am an aspiring pianist and farmer. This blog will track the progress of the latter. I am working at Stearns Farm CSA and gardening flowers and vegetables at the house where Charlotte and I have been renting an apartment since February. We have quality soil and lots of light, and I have high hopes for this growing season. View my complete profile.

Welcome to Bloggerville: September 2013

http://vanessainbloggerville.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Our first day in Arizona! We arrived in Phoenix on Sunday night 9/15. It was 10pm there but our bodies told us it was after 1am. Oliver was blowing raspberries in his stroller with his neck slack from exhaustion. Mark was searching for his guitar that had not made it from JFK to Boston to Phoenix. JetBlue Attendant: So are there any identifying characteristics that can help us find your luggage? Mark: Umm.it's guitar-shaped. Tia an...

http://vanessainbloggerville.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Friday, October 18, 2013. Our first month in Arizona. So I am used to having a ton of people around me. And I liked it that way. I was very social at my job, always making plans with friends on nights and weekends, and seeing family even more often. We got to Sahuarita and there was NONE of that. Mark's brother and his wife and daughter live across the street. So that was literally our only connection here. I was very active in singing groups in high school an...

http://vanessainbloggerville.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Thank you Dan Forst for coining the term. We decided not to drive back in to Brooklyn last night. And I'm extremely glad that we took her advice. I feel, a little, like an entitled park slope parent. HOW DARE THE CITY NOT CLEAN UP THE ROADS AND SIDEWALKS I USE TO GET TO YOGA, WALK MY DOG, AND BUY ORGANIC HOUSE CLEANING PRODUCTS. I guess I'm not the only one. Links to this post. Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Monday, October 11, 2010. Amanda and Luke Got Married. My best friend from 7th grade married her Skidmore lover on September 18th of this year. It was the most perfect wedding. The weather was superb. The food was delectable. The ceremony was unique. The decorations were classy. The reception was a blast. The night was crazy awesome. The ceremony honored the love of other married couples. The music inspired a dance party that did not rest. And in case you're w...

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Saturday, November 27, 2010. So, Mark and I have been engaged for almost 7 months now. It feels like we should hurry up and be married already but. I. And I have been to resorts and I am being honest when I say that they feel like you are ingesting the worst part of the mass-produced, get sloppy or die tryin' mentality of American budget vacationing. And I do not what to be within a 5 mile radius of ANY undergrads or Jersey Shore wannabes grinding to house...

Welcome to Bloggerville: November 2012

http://vanessainbloggerville.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Sunday, November 18, 2012. I'm 65 months pregnant. It has been over a year since I've posted on my blog. I've never really considered myself a writer, but I was religious about keeping journals when I was younger. So after I got through the wedding, and our first anniversary came and went, and I got pregnant (! I figured it was time to talk about my feelings in life again. In no particular order I found out the following things were off limits:. After the firs...

Welcome to Bloggerville: March 2013

http://vanessainbloggerville.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Bloggerville is a place for random thoughts. Thursday, March 7, 2013. Sunrise on the day I went into labor. In Labor at Sephora. Georgia examined me and I was 8cm dilated, which was good news! When his head started to emerge Georgia told me to reach down and feel it and that was incredible. I really didn't know what was going on down there throughout the pushing, so feeling the head really gave me the extra energy I needed to push him the rest of the way out. Links to this post. Ocean Treasures

Sunday, June 2, 2013. Back in the water! I was able to start the weekend by enjoying the glorious weather we had on Friday (sunny and 27C even on the coast! By slipping under the waves into the silent underwater world. I was training a couple of new students in the lab to count and measure eelgrass. Both had never done it before so it was a great new experience for them and gave them a taste of what it to come with this summer's field work in July and August. It worked beautifully and is ready for anothe...

Ocean Street

We are Ocean street. With Putnam’s polish, Ocean Street have added a full band breadth to their emotive sound. Kovaly’s keys ring through each song with mood and precision, while Kropf sings with whiskey-smooth melodies. His lyricism and storytelling takes tender, singular moments of loneliness and heartbreak and sees what they look like refracted through his prism. Their stories of lived experiences backed by galloping drums, nimble bass grooves, and shining piano. This playlist is empty.
