In 2007, we partnered with an apartment complex in Santa Ana to enhance our Second Stage Housing program. Six two-bedroom apartment homes have been set aside for OCIS families at greatly reduced rates. Still close in proximity to our main facility, this planned apartment community allows our families to experience true independence in a dignified and tranquil setting. Families live in scattered-site apartments in Orange County for up to 18 months. During that time, they work with case managers to increase their self-sufficiency and gradually lessen supports. Our case managers emphasize educational and job-training programs that enable parents to raise their hourly wage. Eligible families for this program agree to:. Most children are not available for tutoring until after 5:00pm. Volunteers interested will need to be fingerprinted. Furniture Pick Up /Delivery. On occasion, volunteers are needed to assist staff with picking up donated furniture items and delivering them to our storage unit or to recipient families.

Since 1983 Friends of Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter (FOCIS) has been supporting the families at the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter with donations, special projects, supplies, volunteers and staff assistance.
