Friday, July 8, 2011. Do you ever have those days? Doing this can give me the break I need. I can have some time to think. Time to relax. Sure, I still talk to the kids about this tractor, that traffic light, etc, but the environment is controlled. Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Happy Birthday to my precious Caden! I can't believe you are already one. On July 6th of last year at 3am our busy first day together began when my water broke. We had been praying for you to decide it was time to come into the world, and I was so excited that the time was here! We arrived at the hospital a couple hours later so I could get started on antibiotics for group b strep. When the doctor came in to check on you and me he discovered that I had a second bag of water!

Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Party of the First year! On July 9th the family gathered at Papa's house in Austin to celebrate Caden's first birthday. A casual summer pool party seemed like the perfect way to celebrate my laid back, water loving, little guys first year. Grandpa Mike cooling off in the pool. Aunt Melissa and Anthony were enjoying the water, as well. Aunt April chillin poolside. We had croquet,. Lots of presents,. And, of course, cupcakes! Everyone had a fun time! I can't believe my baby is one!

Ty is now 18 months old. We feel as though he has grown and changed so much these last months, what a fun age! Ty now has all his teeth (at least for a few years), he is into making animal sounds, can do some great faces (we have quite the charmer on our hands), talking more and more and very much an explorer. What qualifies as a good day. I would say today was a good day. We did nothing special, the kids had their pajamas on all day. Dishes are still dirty and laundry is not all folded. We swept up crumbs and cleaned up spills. There was arguing, pulling of toys and hitting when toys got pulled. There was forgiveness and hugs. I yelled at the kids (maybe twice) and then apologized and talked about how mommy is not perfect. We engaged. We played. We read. Today was a good day. Matt and Jen Waller.
