The rest of my life. Sunday, April 19, 2015. My dad died last December. We did little to mark his passing then other than inter the ashes, opting instead for a gathering this spring. As weird as some family events can be, this one was nothing but wonderful. The only sad part occurred when I arrived home and had the urge to call Dad on the phone and tell him all about it. For a bowel blockage and recovered from that. A second blockage sent him to the ER, and when they started treatment - insertion of a nasogastric tube and catheter - his heart stopped. The rest of my life. Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A couple of weeks ago, we packed our bags. And drove through this (and later some wicked downpours). Along the way, we stopped in Casey, Illinois, home of the world's largest. There was also a purple house. And some street art. We spent the night in Collinsville, Illinois, and the next day, visited Cahokia Mounds. We could see St. Louis (including the arch on the left). In Kansas City, we saw (among other things). Bee hives next to the employee patio at BCBS.
