Artist Statement

In 2016 I returned to using superimposed sets of parallel lines in order to incorporate movement into my abstract compositions. Forms and lines transition from fixed to moving, moving as the viewer moves. The movement dematerializes lines, introducing an elusive, ethereal element, approching music, that intensifies one's aesthetic experience of an artwork. Olga Dueñas 2016. Website by: Bob Bagley.

Who, with Le Corbusier. Created the School of Purism. In Modern Art. Olga found in abstract art the visual equivalent of music. At the beginning it was geometrical abstraction and then Constructivism that dominated her art. These disciplines were then followed by extensive practice of water color techniques and experiments with digital photography, allowing her to work in spontaneous ways also.
