down in the dots: November 2012
http://downinthedots.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Down in the dots. Friday, November 30, 2012. The problem with a 7-year gap. While I was post-less since (aaacckk! For my confession), I took to Facebook to post short updates. Two FB friends recently mentioned to me that it seemed Noah was my favorite. And I realized then that herein lies the downside of my kids' 7-year gap. True, the volume of posts (anecdotes. In fact, I recently watched Isabella compete in her first track. Though I seriously hope not. Yet.). I can broadcast anything. Plus, it makes yo...

Down in the dots. Thursday, February 28, 2013. When I told you I have a hard time lying and that this one lie (above) I had to admit I actually do tell? Well, I discovered this blog. That very prettily (via her hand-drawn typography). Features the lies we tell every day. And it made me realize there are a few lies I do tell myself. I just cannot give up junk food. Oh, they won't. Because I am really never getting on that treadmill. Remember these yoga mats. But yes, these. I never lie about. I know.

Down in the dots. Monday, January 21, 2013. My coffee shop name. As you might know from here. They never get my name right at Starbucks. I have to repeat it several times and the name on my cup is still totally wrong or, at best, misspelled. So once, on a whim, when asked for my name, I uttered the first name that came to mind - Vivian. And they got it right with just one mention and the name on my cup was spelled correctly! So since then, I've been using Vivian as my Starbucks name. Do they get your.

Down in the dots. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. The one", church-wise. Post will be about comparing churches, but not on the basis of faith or religion. Turns out, the church we were in was very conservative and gadgets were, I guess, not allowed. It made me appreciate how progressive our church at home is. In our church, it is common for us to use our smartphones or tablets to access the bible. Even some pastors use a tablet to guide them as they preach the Lord's message. Can worship God in literal peace.

of dots & things: January 2013
http://ofdotsnthings.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Of dots and things. Thursday, January 24, 2013. It isn't intuitive to me to pair pastels with black - like seafoam green is effortlessly paired with black in Mango's January 2013 Lookbook. Even though Michelle Williams inspired me here. I still haven't been able to actually do it. Moreso, spring floral prints. I've paired them with stripes (inspired by this. But not with black. Not yet. Maybe I need these pieces the Prabal Gurung for Target Collection as my training wheels. Also love these shorts! Prabal...

Of dots and things. Sunday, May 31, 2015. These days, when Noah reaches for something and I help him out by handing it to him, he says,. I used the Force again! When I jokingly glare at him for pulling one on me, he says in his Yoda-like voice,. Strong within me, the Force is.". And when I glare at him even more, he yells,. Dead, I am! Dead, I am! Photo is from here. For previous posts from the Noah says. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Color Obsession: all of them. Photos are all my own. Wednesday, May 27, 2015.

Of dots and things. Monday, December 31, 2012. Mommy Mondays: a new holiday eve tradition. What do you do while waiting for the Christmas or New Year's eve festivities to begin? What do you and your kids do during that time after dinner on December 24. 31, before Noche Buena or the New Year fireworks? During previous Christmases, I'd be frantically wrapping gifts in time for gift-giving on Christmas eve. But this year, since I had wrapped all my gifts and put them under our tree early here. The movie kep...

down in the dots: how styling makes a difference
http://downinthedots.blogspot.com/2015/06/how-styling-makes-difference.html
Down in the dots. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. How styling makes a difference. I spotted this jacket from outside Zara while walking to an off-site meeting. Because this was how it was styled. I thought, "Who would want that jacket with that old-fashioned notch collar? But there was something about the jacket that I couldn't shake. Then it hit me: I purchased the exact same jacket a few weeks ago! It's amazing what the right styling can do! Photos are my own and from Zara.com. Posted by dots n' things.

Down in the dots. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. How Halloween didn't go exactly as planned. I had a specific criteria for Noah's Halloween costume this year. First, I didn't want to spend so much. After all, I no longer have a monthly salary). Second, I wanted him to be comfortable. I didn't want him to feel hot in thick, full-body covering). Third, I didn't want his costume to be very common. But most importantly, I wanted Noah to want his costume - to love it. Okay, maybe just 5%). As you know from here.

down in the dots: April 2015
http://downinthedots.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Down in the dots. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Today, I am unloving. Today - okay, for 7 weeks now, I have been unloving the whole cramped elevator situation in the office. In almost 2 decades working, turns out it's my first time to work in a central business district, in a high-rise office building, so the overstuffed elevator experience is new to me. How in the world is that possible? Now I know how my clothes (and shopping loot) on out-of-the-country trips feel like in my overstuffed luggage. Gah! I wis...
