Sunday, 13 May 2012. Hawaii: North Shore of Oahu. It's hard not to come into direct contact with turtles here, as they're basking in the warm waters around the tide line everywhere. Right in Haliewa, we saw 20-30 in one spot yesterday, which led me to look up the collective term. Take your pick of a bale/dole/ or nest of turtles! None very satisfying. Turtles aside, my favs are a murder of crows, an ostentation of peacocks and a yaffle of cuckoos! The house with the tree! Wedding and dog walking on Sunset.

Friday, 20 July 2012. Camping in Marin: Point Reyes. Leaving San Fransico on a foggy saturday afternoon. We said our goodbyes to the girls; Skylar and Kaitlin, and their mum Cynthia and Jolie and headed over the bridge with our new tent to Point Reyes. The first night we were entertained by a lad of 6 and his dad from Sacramento, who played the fiddle and the ukulele, while a couple of fat racoons tried to steal their food and have a noisy scrap. I think there were about 16 jacket potatoes involved!
