A Chronicle of my Thoughts: June 2006
http://chronicleofthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. The benefits are self-exlanatory. More wealth = wealthier, happier people. (In such a system where the rich get richer, the rich benefit doubly, both by a general increase in wealth and by a widening of the economic devide.). Communists believe that everyone should have the same amount of money, even if it means that the economy as a whole is weakened. So, to recap, the best distribution of wealth is one where everyone has the same...

A Chronicle of my Thoughts: Blogging
http://chronicleofthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/02/blogging.html
A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Friday, February 16, 2007. It has come to my attention that *some* people would like me to blog more often. In response, I would prefer to adopt a schedule of blogging that is not entirely in keeping with the spirit of this blog. Ergo, I made a new blog. This blog: updated infrequently, full of intellectual, technical, boring ramblings. More of a place to write down finished ideas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Chronicle of my Thoughts: May 2006
http://chronicleofthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Science is farming knowledge. In normal situations, we have to wait for stuff to happen to learn from it. With science, we make stuff happen to learn from it. It's just like the difference between hunter-gathering and farming. Links to this post. Saturday, May 20, 2006. Don't laws like that bother you? Worse than that, though, it leads to a situation where anyone can be prosecuted for offences that anyone could be found guilty of....

A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Sunday, March 18, 2007. A Picture of Science! A picture that shows how all the different scientific fields are connected! Science is so pretty, and so many areas of research I didn't even know existed! Links to this post. Saturday, March 17, 2007. I keep thinking of words I like, words like runcible. A pox on spellcheck for not recognizing runcible. Oh it doesn't like spellcheck either, does it? Blimey, guess it doesn't like compound words. Being a computer...

A Chronicle of my Thoughts: I Imagine Reading Corporate Memos Is Like Reading the Mind of a Vast, Soulless Beast
http://chronicleofthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/01/i-imagine-reading-corporate-memos-like.html
A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Monday, January 15, 2007. I Imagine Reading Corporate Memos Is Like Reading the Mind of a Vast, Soulless Beast. Corporations harness the combined intelligence of their employees by having them generate ideas and communicate them to each other for review, so that the best ideas propagate and the lesser ideas are improved upon. Reading these reports and memos is like reading the mind of a giant, corporate creature. It is scary. Revolution in 21 Days.

The Bees In My Bonnet: Crappy Theater
http://qemqemqem.blogspot.com/2007/09/crappy-theater.html
The Bees In My Bonnet. Tuesday, September 4, 2007. I was in a play the other day*. It was written by a strange frat boy, and centered around potty humor. The entire thing took place in a men's room. My character sat on a toilet with his trousers down for most of the play. He was dead for most of it too. It was a bit awkward to enact. But anywho, acting is fun. Even if actors and directors bother me a bit, I get to make-pretend expressively. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Now With Fancy RSS!

The Bees In My Bonnet: Recycling Causes Deforestation
http://qemqemqem.blogspot.com/2007/09/recycling-causes-deforestation.html
The Bees In My Bonnet. Thursday, September 20, 2007. If you buy a napkin, you increase demand for napkins, which in turn increases demand for forests. By recycling your napkin, you lower the incentive for logging companies to plant new forests. This is the same phenomenon in which beef consumption increases cow numbers via the free market. If you want cows to die (I do), don't eat them. Course, you also fill up landfills faster, but whatever. September 20, 2007 at 3:21 PM. November 1, 2007 at 2:35 PM.

A Chronicle of my Thoughts: October 2006
http://chronicleofthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
A Chronicle of my Thoughts. Some ideas of mine. Monday, October 02, 2006. Links to this post. Top down processing in human organizations. I feel that a lack of understanding of these mechanisms is a serious handicap for the intelligence of large organizations; if there was a better understanding in this field, corporations and governments might use better sytems and therefore act more intelligently. This system is particularly vulnerable to flaws occuring near the top of the structure. If the head of...
