Eating in-season in Atlanta. Veggie burgers, take one. May 17, 2009 at 6:01 pm. I really liked these, but they were still really soft after they were cooked and tended to squish out of the bun. So I liked the flavor but think the texture could be better. Unfortunately I’m not really sure how to fix that! Black Bean Veggie Burgers, adapted from allrecipes. 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed. 1/2 green pepper, cut into 2 inch pieces. 1/2 onion, cut into wedges. 1 egg, lightly beaten. Eating in-season in Atlanta. Cooking when there’s no time to cook. October 26, 2008 at 10:16 pm. On Sunday night, I cooked:. An entire bag of brown rice, which I portioned into 2-serving sizes in freezer bags. Two quiches-I used this recipe. In two premade pie shells. Dump chicken (sounds appetizing, huh? Sweet and hot pasta sauce. And later in the week, I made sloppy joes. And froze the leftovers. I did them on the stovetop, not in the slow cooker. Entry filed under: Main dish. insomniac plays in traffic: March 2010
http://insomniaceatsfoodmostlyplants.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 23, 2010. LA Marathon: Running Down A Dream. Sunday was the Los Angeles Marathon. I'm a huge fan of marathons - mostly because they remind me of my mother. She's run 10 marathons around the country (LA, Long Beach, San Francisco, Chicago, New York) and there's nothing I love more than cheering her on. I find it so inspiring. My plan was to watch the elite runners go by Beverly Hills at mile 16, and then watch the regular folk wheeze their way along further down the course. Folks began arri...

Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Spectating at the Lakers Game. Warning: this is going to be the most trivial and inane Lakers post ever written, so if you want an actual factual account of the game, you can go here. If you want pictures of celebs and stupid Laker girl outfits, then by all means proceed. We had some guests in from out of town, so Mr. Insom scored some Lakers playoff tickets. Yay! Example of my basketball ignorance. Me: Who's that idiot on the ticket? Me: Oh. right. At the closer LA Live. My ot...

Although, my maturation level has reached new heights: Now I turn on the subtitles of EVERY MOVIE just so I can soak in every single word. In fact, my husband has said that I’m every deaf man’s dream. Meanwhile, I dream of movies. April 02, 2008 9:45 PM. As a long time subtitle and movie lover, this post makes me very happ...

The day we confirmed the pregnancy via doctor (Kyle wouldn’t believe it till then), we went to Chick-fil-A. (This is when I could eat anything. Oh the naivete of a 4-week-pregnancy! Kyle ordered himself a “celebratory ice-cream cone.” I questioned, “Celebratory? 8220;Sure. Might as well be.”. And this is one reason I love my husband. June 06, 2008 9:42 PM.

Thursday, August 27, 2009. Yo Ma(ma)'s so sexy, he. On Tuesday night Mr. Insomniac headed to the Hollywood Bowl for what may be our last concert there of the summer. We got kale in our farmers box for the first time this week, and I was a little skeptical that we’d like it since we’re not crazy about some other greens.
