Proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light. June 21, 2009. 8220;it’s meant to be painful” – Francis Chan’s experience. A big thanks to Ruth for sending me this excerpt from an interview with Francis Chan. I thought it’d be good to share with the rest of you too. Was there a time of your life when you were inclined to turn away from God? I just had to deal with the pain and I have to deal with the pain even to this day. How do you deal with the pain?

Proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light. September 27, 2008. Words and symbols have various connotations that can differ from place to place. As I’ve found, it’s so important to figure out what comes in to people’s minds when using certain ones. For example:. 8216;Christian’. To call yourself a Christian is to ally yourself to a particular political party. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for sending your Son in to this horrible world! On Learning fro...

Proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light. October 16, 2008. Learning from others who have taken God at his word. About the life of the CIM missionary James O Fraser, and ‘ Caught in the Web’. By Faith Cook, which is a historical novel but well researched to the extent that it gives us an insight in to the lives of Lady Jane Grey and other other saints who suffered during the religious turbulance of Tudor England. I recommend reading both! You are comment...

Why read OT passages on sin and judgement? | Marvellous Light
https://marvellouslight.wordpress.com/2008/08/11/why-read-ot-passages-on-sin-and-judgement
Proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light. August 11, 2008. Why read OT passages on sin and judgement? Towards the end of the second sermon in Josh Harris’ brilliant eight part series on Jeremiah. Thanks Charissa for recommending it to me a while back! Harris gives a great reason for Christians to read Old Testament passages, such as those in Jeremiah, about sin and judgement. God’s judgement is real and that makes rescue even more incredible. 8211; for h...

Ruminations as I wait...: Ruminations...
http://foundonsolidground.blogspot.com/2012/10/today-i-thought.html
Ruminations as I wait. Monday, 29 October 2012. I enjoy having a think, but don't have that much time for pondering I must say. It's a shame, but I guess as the years have gone by, in their unplanned, often dishevelled, disastrous way, I have grown to enjoy sitting and having a ponder, particularly over my Bible. About how God has taken away my darkness and how he gave it to Christ on the cross. Terrible my life is. To replace demeaning, moaning thoughts with gospel thoughts. Boston News: The Big Picture.

Memoirs of a Gem. Friday, March 30, 2012. Graduation 2012: Warm fuzzies in the form of letters. It was so nice to have a positive reminder of the warm-hearted people in Motomiya. Anyways, I was really glad to get a little piece of Japan in the mail. Surprisingly, I can still match names to students' faces! But we all know that we will probably never meet again. A lot of them obviously copied off each other, but there were some gems in there. Here are some interesting excerpts:. This is a mystery to me...

Memoirs of a Gem. Monday, October 3, 2011. I haven't written in a while, as you can see. It's surprising, given my funemployment. (Right now, the funds are running low. so it's not quite fun.) I know I've got lots to write about it, but I haven't quite figured out where to start. In the past two months, I've been asked: "How was Japan? I try to wrap it up in a nutshell, with a simple: "It was awesome! Labels: life after jet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Who moved my sushi?
