Of Good Report: A Turn in the Road by Debbie Macomber
http://ofgoodreport1.blogspot.com/2011/06/turn-in-road-by-debbie-macomber.html
Books for the discerning reader. Pageshttp:/ www.blogger.com/rearrange? Monday, June 13, 2011. A Turn in the Road by Debbie Macomber. I have always wanted to do a meandering and completely spontaneous road trip, visiting quirky and out-of-the-maintstream places. This road trip, undertaken by three generations of women, sounded like a lot of fun. I would have done it! Things I didn't like: Annie's immaturity and whining, I wanted to smack her! Things I liked: The ending! I liked Rooster, Max's friend and ...
Of Good Report: If I Stay by Gayle Forman
http://ofgoodreport1.blogspot.com/2011/06/if-i-stay-by-gayle-forman.html
Books for the discerning reader. Pageshttp:/ www.blogger.com/rearrange? Saturday, June 11, 2011. If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I was happy that I had not heard anything about this book before I read it because apparently it was a much-hyped, well-loved book. When that happens I have a hard time being objective and either I fall in line with everyone else's opinion or I become the nay-sayer. I don't really like either choice. I read this one in anticipation of reading. Which I have on hold at the library.
Of Good Report: Night Road by Kristin Hannah
http://ofgoodreport1.blogspot.com/2011/06/night-road-by-kristin-hannah.html
Books for the discerning reader. Pageshttp:/ www.blogger.com/rearrange? Friday, June 10, 2011. Night Road by Kristin Hannah. I keep thinking that this was a young adult novel. It reads like one-the heavy-handed anti-drinking message, the teen romance, even the obvious too-pat ending. I liked the book, really I did, but it just didn't feel like an adult novel. The Martin Family: Summer's Over
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2009/09/summers-over.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Sunday, September 13, 2009. Okay, I've been a slacker for the last couple of months or however long it has been. I'm finally doing another blog post! What I didn't realize is just how much we would enjoy the pool! It is great during the summer months when the kids are bored and watching too much tv. I just say "Let's go swimming! And we head outside for hours at a time, quite often inviting a friend or two to join us. It's a grea...

The Martin Family: June 2009
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Sunday, June 21, 2009. One of the perks of living near Boston is being able to attend a Red Sox game now and then. We used to be Atlanta Braves fans because we used to live in the Atlanta Metro area in the late 80's, early 90's. That was when the Braves went from worst to first in one season. They lost the World Series that year but you wouldn't know it from the parade they had. I was as caught up in the frenzy as anyone else! Last n...

http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Thursday, September 24, 2009. The Highs and Lows of Fall. I really love Fall in New England and will do a post on it once the leaves finishing turning into their glorious fall colors. The weather is perfect, highs in the 70's, lows in the 50's. Garrett came last week wanting to add an afterschool flag football and Alyssa wants to start Tae Kwan Do but I just can't see how I can fit it in! Sunday, September 13, 2009. Okay, I've been a...

The Martin Family: Wow it’s been a long time!
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2010/07/wow-its-been-long-time.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Wow it’s been a long time! There is no way I can replay almost the entire last year so I'm not even going to try. I doubt anyone would want to read it all anyway! Suffice it to say that our holidays were nice, everyone survived the year and are all now a year older, and some people have big things going on in their life. J. Just as a teaser from our latest vacation, here's a picture:. July 15, 2010 at 7:45 AM.

The Martin Family: December 2008
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Friday, December 19, 2008. THIS IS SATURDAY MORNING AFTER A NIGHT OF SNOW. THIS IS THE START OF THE STORM. Lot colder. The grocery store was crowded, everyone cramming in last minute errands so they could stay home this afternoon. We are really lucky to have that technology so we can be prepared. It is now over 24 hours since the storm started and it is still snowing! Moms aren't allowed to be sick. Friday, December 12, 2008. Dave an...

The Martin Family: January 2009
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. It's a girl thing. Okay, what is it about little girls (or big girls for that matter) and clothes? Why can't it ever be simple? The "experts" make it seem like it should be simple: "just give them a choice between two outfits" and they expect the kids to be happy to get a choice and just say "okay, I want that one" and that's it. Obviously those experts have Never been to MY house! I want to wear this!

The Martin Family: July 2009
http://martinfamily-kimi.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
The adventures of a Southwestern/Southern family living in New England. Sunday, July 12, 2009. I love this movie! I especially love when he fights Max Baer at the end. Max Baer has killed a man in the ring and threatens to kill Jim. He is arrogant and narcissistic, a thoroughly unlikable person. Jim doesn't brag, he just goes in and does what he needs to do, the humble man quietly defeating the braggart. I love it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dave and Kimi Martin family.
Amesbury Reads: August 2009
http://amesburyreads.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. I've really enjoyed the three books in this series. The girls are smart (yah for smart girls), they are mature for their ages (hate whinny teenager girls- Bella for example), and they are spies (how cool is that? I wanted to be a spy when I was younger). I'd Tell You I'd Love You, But Then I Had to Kill You. Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy. This book picks it up soon after the end of the I'd Tell You I'd Love You. Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover. Saturday, August 29, 2009. I thoug...

Of Goodness, Grace & God
Of Goodness, Grace and God. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Do we pause to even think about all the things we can be thankful for? Each and every day, God blesses us. He doesn't have to. We certainly don't deserve his blessing. But he chooses to continually bless us with his love for us; with his mercies; with his grace. I am thankful for a tender, loving God. I am thankful for a God who is wise, just, sovereign and above all else,. Just the same God every day. What an amazing thing to be thankful for! As I pr...

Of Good Report Praiseworthy. Monday, August 1, 2011. KSL Radio Doug Wright Has Jason Chaffetz All Wrong. Doug Wright for all his savvy can't understand Constitutional restraints on commissions and czars and how those unelected officials undermine democratic processes! Congressman Chaffetz was against the 12-man commission of this newly hashed-out budget proposal, but couldn't get a word in edge-wise for Wright's blabber about if Congress can't get it done, then we should bring in the Big Guys. LAUGH-OUT-LOUD FUNNY and THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINING! ALICIA SILVERSTONE is MAGNETIC. EXTREMELY TOUCHING. The cast maximized the play’s power, as directed by LYNNE MEADOW in one of her best pieces of work. MELISSA ROSS is someone worth watching very closely. OF GOOD STOCK STACKS UP. ALICIA SILVERSTONE is BRILLIANT! A TYPICALLY EXCELLENT Manhattan Theatre Club production with an EXEMPLARY CAST. Website by AKA NYC.
