And it is also what made me think of hurting myself again. I opened myself up for learning, yet i am not quite a blank slate, because pride still takes up most of it. What C thought of, was also something i have planned. she suggested seeking a spiritual director. at the same time, i told her i’m attending a Forgiveness Retreat where i will journey with a spiritual director. C says she has a friend there. coincidence? Out of our conversation came many insights and my heart was much lighter after. Thank you God, for blessing me with everyone at OYP! I’m sharing The Litany of Humility here, because humility is something i need so much. Deliver me, Jesus.

It’ll be a difficult time for me as i pray, and as i ask people around me to keep me in their prayers. i’ll be changing the direction of my life almost totally, although i can always return to nursing in future. Abiding in Him and His love. 8220;when i went into the emergency room, i was almost embarrassed to be there. i was afraid of rejection and invalidation. that it was all too much to bear for me, but simply nothing in the eyes of others.”. 8211; quoted from my diary entry, a sign of weakness which i gave up to God. The problem is, i did. and the more i thought about it, the more i knew it was deliberate. But i know God will never give me more than i can bear. A time for discernment.

The ENT doctor told me what he was going to do step-by-step, and it horrified me. before he could inject local anaesthetic, he had to syringe out the pus to locate the true abscess. only then can he numb the area and make an incision. he had asked if my pain threshold was ok. of course i said yes! Justified it with my medical background, but i know he didn’t believe me. I found it rather amusing actually! Seeing the ENT doc again tomorrow for him to review. aargh. I am flawed...

I had occipital nerve blocks- he injected bupivacaine and triamcinolone on both sides at the base of my skull (the occiput) around the occipital nerves. and boy, of so many jabs i’ve ever had in my life, this was one of the worst that i exclaimed in pain. he told me that the space was very tight (after he introduced the needle).
