A Cardiff Voice: October 2011
http://acardiffvoice.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
An occasional blog with my views on life the universe and everything, but on Wales in particular. Saturday, 1 October 2011. I see that Peter Hain has revived his call for a change to the electoral system for the National Assembly for Wales. When he previously proposed this he said it was in the spirit of consensus and that there would be no advantage to Labour. This time around, in an article to the Labour Party Conference paper he comes clean. Http:/ home.freeuk.net/clpd/cb2011mon.pdf. In it he argues:.

Just a guy talking about nothing. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Thoughts whilst sitting in church on Sunday. Just some random thoughts as I speed towards Cardiff on the train. On Sunday I was sitting in my home church in Ely, listening to the sermon, however my mind wandered (as it usually does) to a favourite verse of mine from the bible. "Without a vision the people lose restraint;" from the book of the Proverbs, chapter 29 verse 18. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Twitter Updates 2.2.1: FeedWitter. I know...

Just a guy talking about nothing. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Wales could be worse! I have to admit that since we have come back to Wales I have done quite a bit of "bellyaching" about our circumstances which have not been good, and perhaps will mean that we may have to move to England, that is unfortunate. I was criticized by an acquaintance of mine about how I had always talked about going back to Wales as if it was Paradise and yet seemed to be running it down. His criticism was un . Sunday, 23 March 2014. The Welsh ego may be in for a battering. A couple of articles from the last few months that make pretty depressing reading for a Welsh man or woman:. Harri Lloyd Davies: Plaid should be championing regional pay
http://harrilloyddavies.blogspot.com/2012/04/plaid-should-be-championing-regional.html
Tuesday, 24 April 2012. Plaid should be championing regional pay. The election of Leanne Wood as leader of Plaid Cymru is expected by many to see to the Party moving further to the left. Her comments today confirm this as she looks to cosy up with Labour. This shift should open the door for the Conservative Party in Wales to start appealing directly to disaffected Plaid supporters. 24 April 2012 at 17:27. My understanding is that the current proposals for regional pay fall into the first scenareo. I am t...

Sunday, 17 April 2011. Time to work together. A couple of blows for Welsh economic prospects in the last week. First came the news that BMI baby are pulling out of Wales. Then we heard that unemployment had risen in Wales whilst falling everywhere else in the UK. It is not therefore a surprise to see operators pulling out. All parties have come up with some useful suggestions for the Welsh economy but now is the time for delivery. It is too important an issue to be used as a political football. Who ever ...

Harri Lloyd Davies: Politics: It's a funny old game
http://harrilloyddavies.blogspot.com/2014/04/politics-its-funny-old-game.html
Wednesday, 9 April 2014. Politics: It's a funny old game. I don't know much about Maria Miller but one fact I remember is that she went to the same school as Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones. Tonight I cant help but smile at the differing fortunes of the two former pupils of Brynteg comprehensive school. Carwyn on the other hand recently wasted £50,000,000 on a failing airport whilst simultaneously sitting back whilst standards in the Welsh NHS and Education systems are in seemingly terminal decline.
