We just wanted to take a special moment to thank our parents Larry and Karilyn Duarte (Nonno and Nonnie), and Bruce and Barbara Martin (Nana and Papa). Without their love, help and support we would not be able to live out this amazing life filled with daily adventures on land or sea. They are very special members of our crew and we love them very much.

We are growing up right before your eyes. Fearless leader, dad and captain of our crew. A homebuilder by trade a sailor at heart. Starting at age 6 he was destined to be on, in and near the water. He has safely navigated us though all types of water and in every hemisphere. His passion for the wind and the waves is infectious and keeps us all going strong.

Landfall was Barcelona, but there was 600 miles to cover, including the Balearas Islands and a road trip to Seville to explore with our new crew. Lisa parents were coming for a month long visit and they wanted the whole sailing experience. We gave it to them and together, we all sailed to our next destination of Gibraltar. Best of all, there was an endless spread of playground possibilities to run and scooter upon. Skate parks, a small water works park and a new pal named Carlos! Barcelona is a beautiful...

Welcome to Ohana Kai. We've Circumnavigated the World! May 6th, 9:55 am, 2009. We'll continue to sail Ohana Kai up the coast of Mexico until July 2009 and leave her in San Carlos, Sea of Cortez for the hurricane season. Meanwhile we'll fly home and try to learn to adjust to life on land. Come spring we'll give her a new coat of bottom paint and decide what to do with her next. We'll keep you posted on our next moves including that transition back to terra firma! Thanks again for coming along on the ride.

Ohana Kai Surf Shop. Our favorite surf shop located in Ventura, California. They are a great crew with a great name. What more can you say! A fun resource for kids and the water. They have published a great book full of ideas that will make any kids day an adventure on land or water. Great fun to read and keep up on sailors and puddle jumpers. Another great resource and published in our own backyard of Port Orchard, WA. A great resource for world cruising information. The Flight of the Osprey. Su and Dav...
