Kestrel Makes: Sundress Sew-along
http://www.kestrelmakes.com/2015/07/sundress-sew-long.html
Fabric and Yarn Shopping in Glasgow. Tuesday, 7 July 2015. What better way to get in the mood for summer dress sewing than to join Handmade by Heather B. So what to make? I was going to ask for your advice on my top 3, but then I pretty much decided for myself. I'll share the other choices anyway, as they are still contenders. This is my first choice:. New Look Maudella 6042. I made this up last year for the Vintage Pledge, in an animal print-esque viscose. Too I will also be using stash fabric. I like a...

sewing a summer skirt | little home by hand

Little home by hand. Sewing a summer skirt. Finding the right skirt is tricky – too short, too long, too sheer, too stiff, the list goes on and on. Discovering a perfect ready-to-wear skirt is like winning the jackpot for me. I like my skirts flowy but not frumpy (see my Pinterest board. For what I mean). Not suprisingly I decided that this summer I was going to make a few jersey skirts for myself. Jersey is such a great material to work with once you’ve gotten to know your serger. A Summer Linden Sweatshirt! July 1, 2015. Hope your weeks are going well! I’m back again after my interview with O! To show you the sweatshirt I made with her locally-produced sweater knits! Olgalyn asked me if I would like some yardage from her new collection to review, and of course I said yes! I’d already been planning to save up for some, and after sewing with this, I’m saving my pennies for some of the color-grown cotton! I chose the New Hudson knit. They weren’t all for me, though! I carefully unpi...

Our New RUST Shop! Last weekend we opened our new Rust Jewellery. Shop, right here in Yarmouth. It was quite a big project as we did it all ourselves, and with a toddler to look after as well, it was a small matter stressful. Any how, we did it, and here is a little tour of our little shop on this little Island. This wall looks a bit sparse because we lost the prints that we bought to put behind the counter! I made some pouches and felt whales and fabric crowns in my shed! So all is going well so far!
