The 10-day forecast only predicts one 24-hour stretch with the temperatures above freezing. Most of the snow will likely be gone by the end of next week, but the rivers will likely won't be free of ice until after St. Patrick's Day. Last year, I was fishing by March 9. More than 4 million people live about an hour drive from the Rocky River so when I walked down the well worn path toward a favorite spot a little bit before 8 am today I had to be prepared for disappointment. Everything about Steelhead fishing in Ohio. I use flyrods,spinning gear, centerpin, you name it. As long as I catch fish I'm happy. Monday, October 15, 2012. There has been a lot of rain in September, and that has setup our October. The fish had spread out in the middle and lower sections but now the water has shut off.
