As early as today, the House of Representatives is expected to approve a measure that would eliminate roughly $18 billion in tax incentives for oil and gas companies, and use the savings to fund tax credits and other incentives for renewable energy. Consumers would gain new tax breaks for buying plug-in hybrid cars.
