Oil... On The Rocks.: Last Pre-Season Game of the 2010-2011 Season
http://oil-on-the-rocks.blogspot.com/2010/10/last-pre-season-game-of-2010-2011.html
Oct 3, 2010. Last Pre-Season Game of the 2010-2011 Season. The goaltending situation is something that needs to be dealt with. To be honest I though Khabibulin looked terrible against Calgary on Friday. Granted, his team didn't give him a whole lot of help, but he wasn't stealing. The show either, and some of those saves that a team needs. A goaltender to make? The team lineups are as follows:. Dustin Penner (27) - Andrew Cogliano (13) - Jordan Eberle (14). Ladislav Smid (5) - Theo Peckham (49). Big Chan...

Oil... On The Rocks.: March 2010
http://oil-on-the-rocks.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Mar 3, 2010. Goodbye Lubo. I'm a lot angrier than I realize right now, but you were a fantastic player, and I'd take you over Souray any day. Please forgive me if I seem irrational, but this trade is one of those trades that we'll look at next year, and probably the year after and ask ourselves how Tambellini ever got the job, or maybe be a little less harsh and ask ourselves what they spiked Tambellini's coffee with that morning that made him think this was a good idea. Need cap room? Signed, Becca Jane.

Oil... On The Rocks.: A Monumental Eff-Up
http://oil-on-the-rocks.blogspot.com/2011/01/monumental-eff-up.html
Jan 6, 2011. I don't want to say much about last night's game. It didn't feel as bad to lose last night as it did a year ago. Thanks to the Oilers I am more than well-versed in ways to deal with losses, and I felt bad last night for a total of maybe an hour. Of course that could have something to do with the consumption of a certain mind-altering beverage, but either way my night was not ruined by the loss (although it was definitely tarnished). Russia deserved that win more than we did last night. Unive...

Oil... On The Rocks.: Saying Goodbye to the D-Train
http://oil-on-the-rocks.blogspot.com/2011/03/saying-goodbye-to-d-train.html
Mar 1, 2011. Saying Goodbye to the D-Train. There are not many players in the NHL that can pull off a black eye like big Dustin Penner can. Yesterday the Oilers did something that was expected: they traded one of our two most important current. Pieces to our team. I'm happy that Ales Hemsky is going to to stay (at least for the remainder of the season), but I'm not happy that Dustin is out in LA now (though it affords him a chance at another cup). 12:30 PM: TSN announces trade. Why it Makes Sense:. It ma...

Oil... On The Rocks.: December 2009
http://oil-on-the-rocks.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Dec 7, 2009. And Other Important Things, Like The Game Tonight. If the Oilers can keep it together and show up as the same team that was in Detroit this should be a win. If it's the team that showed up in Vancouver we're in trouble. Signed, Becca Jane. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Becca Jane on Twitter. Becca Jane on Twitter. Follow me on Twitter. The OIL Drum: November 2011
http://theoildrumblog.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Insight and opinion from a hockey fan in OIL Country. Tuesday, November 15, 2011. On Ryan Smyth and the Value of Leadership. Through 17 games of the 2011-12 regular season, the Oilers currently sit in 6th place in the West and 2nd in the Northwest, only 3 points behind the Wild with a game in hand. The surprising start to the season has been the result of number of players performing better than Oilers fans could have hoped they would, with one standout being none other than Ryan Smyth.

Thursday, January 31, 2013. Oilers Update - Yakupov Wins it again! After a big victory in the desert, Oilers forward Taylor Hall tweeted :. For celebrating normally after a huge goal.". Yawn Say what you will but you can bet Don Cherry will say a few words on Saturday. Nevertheless, the Edmonton Oilers beat the desert dogs the hard way. The Oilers thought they had sealed a victory with Lennart Petrell's goal until Nick Johnson tied it at one a piece with 19 seconds left in regulation. View my complete pr...
