The Hydro-Balanced Stuffing Box utilizes a "barrier" of clean, pressurized grease between the production fluid and the atmosphere. This concept was originally patented by Harold Palmour, of The Palmour Group. Harold subsequently signed a license agreement with Trico Industries for the further design and development of the HBSB.
