Monday, May 19, 2008. Travel in a Shoebox. In April we decided to head for some sunshine.south, perhaps east? So much so, we are ready to do another trip! The trillium on the coast were "gigantic" and came in, not just white, but mauve, deep pink and burgundy colours! And the Sequoia (Redwood) trees were absolutely awesome! They were "this big! Sunday, February 17, 2008. Just some neat images from yesterday's cross-country ski outing.these baby pines are struggling to reach the sun through the wind-sculpted snow! The ice crystals on the branches are like jewels against the sky! And the trees. encased in feathery white coats.this must be heaven! Dick (one of our septuagenarian ski buds) says so. Sunday, March 30, 2008. Last hike in March. We, and our feathered friends, awoke to more snow on the ground.but it was a glorious day for a hike! Regardless of the white stuff.spring is popping up all over. The buttercups are quite persistant and will not be deterred! And the moss is thriving.even here in the dry Okanagan! The oregon grape (I thought was a West Coast native.) is also quite predominant and very colourful this time of year! Dancing in our heads. Labels: Still undecided.winter or spring?
