Just another WordPress.com weblog. So anyway, my Dad passed away last Thursday. He had just turned 88 and after a couple of bouts of pneumonia, the doctors discovered lung cancer. He was admitted to hospital and within a couple of days he was gone, it turned out his left lung was completely collapsed, his liver and kidney’s were slowing down. You did your best Dad, and it was pretty good. Thanks for everything. Love you and give my love to Mum. 4 Responses to “thinking time”. Shelagh C. in Houston. Genny...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. So anyway, when I booked my hotel for Timaru I just let my google do the walking and found what looked to be a gorgeous renovated old style pub/hotel. I got half right. The old pub/hotel half. It wasn’t bad and they are in the process of renovating, the rooms were clean, comfortable, safe and cheap, so really not bad at all. But there was one thing which left me wondering…. A wall mounted bottle opener right next to the loo…. 5 Responses to “things to ponder”. You are c...

Laquo; Camping in the woods. Why my blog has been a bit quiet recently. ». A windy weekend at West Dean. I spent last weekend at college, taking another course towards the Foundation Diploma which I am doing. The course was called Connecting Design to Stitch and was taken by Sandra Meech. We then started working into the booklets - doing different exercises on line; shape; tone etc. which Sandra demonstrated. We also tore pages, glued bits back together and generally rearranged things! I decided to stay ...

Laquo; Festival of Quilts. A windy weekend at West Dean. ». Camping in the woods. We decided to make the most of the forecast sunshine last week and went down to Graffham campsite for a couple of days. We had a nice pitch with plenty of room so we put up our awning which was good. Its not the greatest quality (its not an expensive one) but its really nice to have a bit of extra space. We walked in the woods. We saw a couple of deer on one of our walks. I didnt manage to get a photo unfortunately! Comment...

Why my blog has been a bit quiet recently. About 7 weeks ago we signed a lease on a small place in Bampton, Oxfordshire. We are going to be opening a fabric shop - hopefully by the end of November (but we still have a heap of stuff to organise!
