Thursday, 11 June 2015. The job of clearing holly from a large area adjacent to the ghyll was finished last week. We've had 3 bonfires, there's one final pile of holly branches to burn, and a large amount of wood to find a use for. Friday, 30 January 2015. Down in the southernmost corner of OC1 the boundary fence along H P Road is looking rather the worse for wear. Without its summer coat of bramble it's clear where posts have rotted and in places the wire is coming down, helped by the deer who have created a few convenient exit points. Being next to the road we found the usual collection of litter: jam jars, bottles and a lump of corrugated iron. People throw the oddest things out of car windows. Grey heron (library picture).

Monday, 2 April 2018. Easter Sunday in the wood. Up in the top wood we discovered this new hole - which I think is fox, rather than badger. The track to it is new, and you can see where he has been crushing the bluebell bulbs as he goes to and fro. And as it's Easter there has to be chocolate. These bunnies came to the wood with us.
