Sea Sprite: January 2013
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Winters are just too darn long. Yes it was a mild winter with very little snow but still winter. No trip south this year made it seem even longer. Once again I re-varnished the rudder and tiller. I also applied cetol to the new swing keel winch board. Built by our personal carpenter. (thanks George) Sometimes I wonder if stainless and fiberglass might look just fine. (AKA the Mulholland solution). With the knot meter and the depth sounder replaced...

Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Okay to start I am not the best blogger. I do not update very often and have been even slower this time. I really have been putting this off. I broke one of the first rules of computers. Back up everything. I failed to do so and my hard drive failed taking most of my 2015 pics with it. LESSON LEARNED. We made our annual trip to the Toronto Boat Show. We went alone this year as we could not seem to set a date with the others. With advice from Gord,...

http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Other winter work included removing the boom end cap and tightening the goose neck fittings, adding rings to hold the whisker pole on the stanchions and normal maintenance on the outboard. I also repaired the knot meter. We bought a sock for the spinnaker. We hope it makes it easier to handle. Life is good when you get in a little fishing while breakfast is cooking. We happily celebrated Canada Day at our favorite place with great friends. Bequia,...

Sea Sprite: January 2012
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. The snow came early and left very late. We spent part of the winter varnishing the rudder (recurring issue) as well as applying Cetol to our new table, cupboard door and instrument board. All built out of mahogany by my father in law. (thanks George). We also met the Editor of Ontario Sailor Magazine at the show. He was very interested in our Sailing Club. You never know what will happen at the boat show. We loved it and plan to go back. By the ti...

Sea Sprite: December 2014
http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. LAUNCH - Rowan Bluffs Marina. After a long winter spring snuck up on us. The boat work was done in a rush trying to be ready for an early launch. Bottom paint. cetol, varnish, new cup holders and at last as recommended by Lorne a toggle on the forestay. As predicted this made it much easier to secure the front stay. (First mate wants to know why it took seven years.). It was a bit cold in the early spring. But look no weeds. Nds on the inner bay.

Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. Over the winter First Mate made a quilt to fit the V berth. Should make for warmer nights. In the Spring she also designed, sewed and installed curtains. We continued to practice with the Spinnaker. (Thanks to Dwight for the Picture.). We reached a new height of second place in the June race. We also reached a new low of last place in the August race. ( practice practice practice). Late in the season we added this. http://seaspritesirius22.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. It was a long winter again. The only break in the cold was a trip to the Toronto boat show with several of our friends from the club. Winter work consisted of refinishing the tiller and rudder again. My father-in-law also built new companionway doors. (solid mahogany) Great improvement over the plywood ones. All finished with cetol. First mate designed and stitched a custom table cloth for Sea Sprite. Several great guests visited. We even had time...

Our time with our Sirius 22 and other sailing adventures. SAILING 2014 Winter Again. I really hate Canadian winters. This one was very cold with lots of snow. It came early and stayed long. Our only respite was a trip to the Toronto Boat Show with Les and Chris and an all too short trip to Freeport to see Gerry and Sophia. At the boat show we attended seminars by Paul and Sheryl Shard (http:/ www.distantshores.ca) and Michael Leahy (http:/ www.great-lakes-sailing.com/). Lots of corral was as well. The Mc...
