Thursday, March 13, 2014. A new garter belt. Today, I decided to sew a garter belt for myself. My old one is not in a wearable condition and I had to make a new one. And now I finally did! Making this was so easy. I made a pattern of my old garter belt and somehow managed to sew it together. It is not perfect, but for a first attempt I am rather satisfied with how it turned out! Thursday, November 21, 2013. Busy days, and some ideas and a birthday. Here in Holland -well, near Holland because I live in Germany- we celebrate 'Sinterklaas' on December 5th. Maybe you even know what is is. If you'd like more information, take a look at this. The blouse I'm making looks like the one on the right, but mine has a different collar. I have not seen him since October 31st. But in 4 days we will see eacht other again! Today I stumbled upon this image on Glamourdaze :. Or in the back? I've k...

Little Miss Bamboo : February 2015
http://littlemissbamboo.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2015. A Sunny Sunday in February. Finally, a week no school and almost nothing to worry about. Time to sleep a lot but also time to do a lot of other things. We started this week in the Ardennes (how could you ever have guessed that? My brother and parents had already been there this year but I didn't so this time I had to join them. But that also meant that I would have internet connection. The dodge was still there and all the salt and mud from the events this winter was also st...

http://eviestearoom.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
You don't need a giant venue, seating for 200 or even cake (Well, everyone wants cake) to celebrate a birthday! To quote The Beatles, all you need is love. OOTD: Flowers, Glass and Bronchitis. I thought I'd do a quick little outfit post. Nothing special, but at least it's something! When warmer weather rolls around, I want to be out more and take pictures. I also want to take outfit pictures without a coat on! Blouse, Skirt and Coat: Forever21. Shoes: Thrifted (March purchases! Stay warm and hopeful!
Evie's Tea Room: Vintage Patterns: To Tape or Not to Tape
http://eviestearoom.blogspot.com/2015/02/vintage-patterns-to-tape-or-not-to-tape.html
Vintage Patterns: To Tape or Not to Tape. I wonder, when you see old sewing patterns that have tears and are dangling in pieces like a well-loved rag doll, do you wish they had been taped to prevent further wear? Or should they be left alone, kept pure, even if it means an unusable pattern? As an owner of an Etsy shop, selling vintage patterns, in rough shape or not, I am not sure what to do when it comes to this issue. What do you prefer? So, have you struggled with this or had this predicament? Good lu...

Evie's Tea Room: Lately I Love: 1930's Embroidered Ladies
http://eviestearoom.blogspot.com/2015/07/lately-i-love-1930s-embroidered-ladies.html
Lately I Love: 1930's Embroidered Ladies. Something I've been completely enamored with as of late, are these adorable embroidered and often hand-tinted or appliqued ladies. Recently, I was at an antique shop and saw some lovely embroidered and embellished pillows with faces or silhouettes of beautiful ladies on them. I have always enjoyed sketching female faces and portraits. Add that to my love of embroidery and you have extreme inspiration! I have started one of my own, which is pictured first. Stitche...

The colors in this outfit are also very Shelagh; the muddy brown cardigan and skirt, creamy yellow blouse and rusty tone in the oxford heels. So, without further ado, here is the Shelagh ensemble! Friday, September 16, 2011. Life is kind of fabulous right now. I'm not sure if that's an indication that I'm living my life right, or if this is one of those moments where I'm supposed to catch my breath before the next crisis hits. Within the past week I've. Saved one of my friend's from dropping out of school because of financial problems. Met Bill Nye the Science Guy. Had dinner with the Samoan Head of State. I think that that's a pretty good week, all things considered. My boss is a genius. Find som...

Thursday, December 29, 2016. Another year has come to an end. This year really flew by, didn't it? I can picture last New Years Eve as if it were yesterday, and in two days it'll be time again to celebrate the new year! For the last two years, I believe I have been writing my New Years resolutions (a couple of them, anyway) on this blog so I can see how I did at the end of that year. It's become some kind of a tradition and I really want to do it again, but first, let's see how I did this year:. Next to ...
